Romans 6:23 KJV, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” While Jesus hung on the cross, He said, “IT IS FINISHED.” As in the debt has been paid. In full. Jesus paid the penalty for our sins! HE DID IT. FOR US. And three days later HE ROSE AGAIN, proving that God has accepted His sacrifice. Salvation is really a gift from God. There is nothing we could EVER do that could earn us salvation. We already broke God’s law! And God cannot be bribed. Also our righteous deeds are as FILTHY RAGS before God. That’s why we NEED Jesus. No matter what you’ve done, you can be forgiven. God WANTS to forgive you. But if you want to be forgiven/saved you must receive His gift by placing your faith (belief and trust) in Jesus Christ and in His finished work on the cross. 1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV, “Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
