      @@Viggles04 remember the “the doors Gia has opened” jokes last year? When Gia started to publicly identify as trans she reaaaaally leaned into it as a brand and tried to bill herself as a trailblazer and pretty much “the only one” when it came to trans Ru girls, this of course wasn’t true and the fandom meme’d her for it, but now it’s clear to see that the root of Gia’s hostility towards Farrah was that Gia felt threatened by her, not as a drag race competitor necessarily but as the next “it trans girl”

    Farrah not crying while talking about what happened to her, but then crying about what happened to her therapist shows you what kind of person she is. A fighter and *actually* an empath. Those interviews are *so* important because they actually tell and document modern queer stories - the good, bad and the ugly. This depth is lacking in other interviews about Queens and queer performers. This is actually modern history about the recent and current queer experience.

    Farrah is the manifestation of us not knowing anything about a drag queen other than what production makes us believe. I'm so glad I got to watch this and understand her journey and who she is as a person.

    • @chilenapromedioRU
      @chilenapromedioRU 5 місяців тому +32

      I was always bothered by that. I was mad at production by not allowing us to get to know her. I never disliked Farrah, it didn't bothered me that she was very sensitive or cried easily, what bothered me is that production never showed us a confessional that went deep into that so we can relate with her actually. So I felt she was sweet, talented and very sensitive, but that I didn't know anything about her at all from DR. Now thanks to Maddy and Farrah's will to open her heart to us, I finally get to understand her and finally connect with her.
      Storyline producers definitely pick who they want to showlight and who they have as their "pretty ornaments".

    I can relate to Farrah regarding her therapist. My sexual trauma counselor was a pivotal part of my life for 3 years in college. I actually found out about a relationship between him and a very young client that had been ongoing since she was underage. So I ended up reporting him and had to be interviewed a billion times. He was removed from campus and had his license revoked. It was so hard to find out something so nasty about someone I trusted and cared for. Finding out that he was taking advantage of his client’s traumas and wounds. I’ve tried to go back to therapy but it just hasn’t been the same. It still makes my heart hurt, two years later.

Sara played drag mother and my friend started to experiment. Sara lived with my friends best friend in UT student housing and was also playing drag mother to him (at I believe 30 yrs old). I remember my first ever experience with drag race- I went to their sugar daddy’s house for a season 9 viewing and all they did was talk shit about Farrah and how they used to be besties and she was a terrible person (I didn’t watch drag race for years bc the energy in the room was so icky).
