Firstly Philip is gorgeous, secondly I would go completely bat crazy in that Brocante. I cannot believe that outside section - so many treasures. That place is retail therapy at its finest.
I Absolutely HATED to see this video end. Your 'Brocante Episodes' are getting SO GOOD. I loved watching them before, but now I am coming to adore them. Just an iDEA: I think you should set aside a little more funds for purchases for those episodes. The restoring bits whether painting, staining, waxing, refashioning, tearing apart and remaking, reupholstering et all just set them off so well. Seeing the whole process from finding the item, fixing the item, placing the item, and finishing the item with decorations -"PERFECTION."
I think you're on to something. You could go even further. I'm sure there are lots of viewers who would love to purchase items handpicked by Stephanie and company. She could set up a shop in one of the outbuildings.
Yes, Kristen Hudson, I agree with you fully. The same goes for a before and after doing each room at the chateau and the process of course. Everything there is made so interesting by Stephanie et all. Absolute perfection even with the difficult moments that are meant to happen to give them all the stamina and determination needed to carry on. I also HATE to see her shows coming to an end.
The whole point of Brocanting ( thrifting) is to open every box... touch everything.... sit ion all the furniture .... and just play! Well done, Philip⭐️
Visiting brocantes with Philip is my new favorite thing to watch. Seeing the chairs in place, and bringing the table to life was a joy to see. Stephanie, you and Philip are perfect shopping companions just as you are with Michael buying clothes.
Love the purchases. Michael Potts is such a humble and handsome man. Philip is divine, mmmmm I’m sensing a very big attraction between you two lol, what a great couple you’d make, he loves so many things like you do Steph. ❤️❤️
I agree that he is definitely a charmer, but when you compare his boy toy looks to the mature beauty of Michael Potts and Oliver, he comes up just a bit lacking.
While I really love the Chateau Diaries, there is just something so special about your brocante trips that I just can´t get enough of! Just makes me so happy watching this :) Can not wait for more!
I’m soooo proud of Phillip for keeping his eyes on the road while driving-- Good for you! Basic maturity isn’t gone! Love thrift shopping with you all while I can’t. Love it, such fun to share your creative spirits. And who doesn’t love chairs and spontaneous piano playing? You ALL are the treasures. 🌻🍁
I was cringing watching it rain on that wooden furniture placed outside at the brocante! That surely decreases the value:) Love the gold chairs you bought!
I actually think she exhibits amazing restraint. If I were there I would be buying everything in sight and trying to charter a plane to get it all back to America...all with the help of gorgeous Phillip.
Cant help it but Stephanie & Phillip surely have a thing for each other. First, an intimate lamp re-do, second, a bunch of romantic yellow roses, and enjoying rain under an umbrella together at a brocante. Just so perfect 💘💘
Selmar-- can't wait to see how you use your genius to complete the bathroom & then the glam touch of Stephanie makes us say , ahhh !!..... could watch you wonderful people all day !
i have noticed on several occasions how beautiful the rolling clouds and the cloudscapes are in the vids. to me, many seem to have a beautiful lilac color and some unusually beautiful grey tones. many times i get completely distracted by the background, and i often wonder if anyone there stops their activities just to see the beauty surrounding the chateau. as a fairly serious student of art (oils, etc.), i do so enjoy the lay of the land, and i am often daydreaming about the many years past. i know that i am romanticizing an era when many daily activities were quite burdensome, but it is so nice to see folk breathing life back into this old lady.
Fabulous vlog. Philip is a great shopper and stephanie has brilliant ideas. Love armchairs, rug & everything. I wouldn't have a penny if I lived near that brocante. Also love advacado and toast. Thank you 😀
Living close to the Brocante & not buy anything would require killer discipline.🥑Avo-toast is a staple for me! 🍵Hard not to try hot tea when it is served with such glorious pomp & ceremony. My heart be still! What more could any hoarder ( sorry, collector!) want? A wonderful shop and two knowledgeable people, Phillip is attractive in such an adorable way and all those astounding bargains. Drool, slobber... THEN a chateau and male types trained to carry and place treasures found. Your heaven is my heaven!
I went to our Emmaus yesterday and found an old round metal garden table with layers and layers of chipped paint on it, lovely colours, for ten euros. I then found a large ceramic sort of mid century lamp base which was 9 euros and I hesitated then bought it then at home thought that it was fabulous. I found an old Ikat silk scarf to cover a shade. As you say Stephanie you have to imagine these finds out of context and home ! Love these stores as you NEVER know what you will find next! xoxoxo
Love the armchairs and wow! Philip has such an eye to mix and combine patterns, colours and shapes in one room and makes it into a very pleasant and delightful lovely ambiance to sit around in. Beautiful!!
Loved this vlog. I hope Philip is able to stay on for a while. He is so helpful & a real cutie as well. We are having Thanksgiving in Canada tomorrow. All the best
He goes nowhere near Selmar - let’s face it, flirting with Stephanie is paying off for him cause he’s getting air time, embarrassing & cringeworthy for both of them.
If the damage to the back of your gold chair is staining, you may be able to use your carpet cleaning machine on it. Love the chairs in the winter salon!
Such good things bought for the chateau! Everything looks like it fits in, easily. Please, be careful - there is a danger of getting so many "bargains" that soon the rooms will begin to look cluttered and like a "brocante" themselves. One doesn't want a room to look like a Period Warehouse!
That is a real danger. I just commented under another post above that Stephanie could easily re-sell some of her finds. I'm sure there are viewers who would buy items she's handpicked.
🤔 She could rotate some of her finds. That would give a freshness to the public rooms. She does have a storage area. For upholstered furniture, she would just need to create a cover for them for safety sake from elements &/or creatures😺 when not in use.

Philip is quite an little Prince, he and Selmar just look and act as if they were always at Lalonde.....they were meant to be anyway. Looking forward to see how Selmar transforms that little bathroom. Brocante in France are the place to buy things that count.
They are super comfy chairs. I sat in those for quite a while because I went to the same Brocante, probably earlier on the same day as Stephanie. The chairs are also featured in my vlog this Wednesday evening. I loved them and really wanted to buy them but my husband didn't like the colour!!
The outside area of the brocante broke my heart 💔 so many treasures being possibly damaged by the rain. Your videos are always a virtual retreat for me. Love all of the Lalanders!
Stephanie, Thank you for this wonderful gem of a video. I was having a horrible day and this was just exactly what I needed with a good cup of tea. I confess your vlogs have been somewhat a medication for my anxiety since the start of this year. All the love and best wishes to you and everyone at Lalande -JP
I’m Philip every time I go to a brocante, I’m watching it right now, I was looking forward to Sunday’s at the chateau. You inspired me to decorate my bedroom more chateau style !
You two are Lovely together... Always be kind to one another!!! Steph: "You dropped it like it was on fire." Phillip: "It's plastic." 😂🤣😂🤣😂 Steph: "Ruby... No, No, No!" Ruby: "Yes, Yes, Yes..." These vlogs bring such happiness to my days... Merci
Omg, this video was such a delightful time. Those chairs are magnificent that was love at first sight for me. And love the card table just lovely . The room has such beautiful colours and the fire on added a special touch. Great video and Phillip just love him what great taste and ideas for decorating. Wish I could take a glance at his living space it’s must be magnificent.🍷
Wonderful purchases. The green sofa looks gorgeous as is & it would be a shame to recover it. You & Phillip together make an excellent team. You both have excellent taste & ideas that match. Just made my day you two brocanting (lol) & having such a good time.❤️
💐 Yes, agree that Stephanie & Phillip work well together! Plus, that green settee was a steal & looks stunning in the Marquis suite. ❤Love the🃏card table turned console table too. It looks wonderful all polished up -- & also marvelous merchandised in that nook by the door. Bravo! 🤗

Hello Michael nice to see you again. Just a few questions, what happened to Nattie and Honey at the brocante and where is Selmar these days one last question WHERE ARE THE BELLOWS YOU WENT THERE TO BUY.
Loved the visit to the brocante.Wonderful to see Michael Potts.Always new adventures diy love it.Mummy Isabelle such a sweety keeping a close eye on the spending.Thankyou Stephanie such a pleasure❤️❤️
The carpet cleaner you were using....well...it's for spot cleaning only. You were also doing it wrong. You spray an area and gently scrub then go over the area dragging the head toward you with it flat down on the rug....this will suck up the water/ cleaner.
I actually cleaned a carpet this way and moisture still in the carpet DESTROYED my beautiful wood floors. They were completely warped. I was horrified and even after repair were never the same.
There are many UA-cam tutorials on how to clean a carpet. Take it outside scrub with Dawn, big brush and buckets of water, rinse and repeat and let dry outside.
I love the sound of the rain on the umbrella too. The rug looks great, it goes well with the colours in your bedroom. Love everything you bought as usual.
I have dress envy. I want that yellow dress with the pink flowers. You have to create a line for all of us to buy. I also have major Brocante envy even though I really don’t need anything. The end tables are sublime. The chairs remind me of my parents. OMG!!! I got the dress!!!
Those yellow chairs are beautiful it looks like a mohair velvet which is pretty pricey per yard yeah $3000 USD of fabric on those chairs. You did a pretty good job on your table. If you had taken 000 steel wool and polished it (using oil , even olive oil work) in a circular pattern you wouldn’t of scratched the table but you would’ve been able to remove the bad scratches. While off then apply An antique oil finish. After that was dry you could put on your coloured wax if you still desired. Nothing restores old faded wood better than oil but be careful not to make it too dark. You can make your own mixture as many furniture restores do. A little bit of paste wax mix with linseed oil, bit of lavender oil, and Rosewood oil. best of luck Stephanie you guys are so lucky to shop in France, Because that’s where all the good stuff is.
Jacqueline writes - LOVE going treasure hunting with you all - almost as if i can do it myself too- vicarious fun - and Philip is soo good at spotting things GOOD fUN - thank you

I agree totally. I hope he stays for a while.
Extremely handsome is a bit extreme lol

I love Michael Potts He is a true friend Stephanie
Poppy Rex I did not understand your view I am just pointing out to Staphanie that Michael Potts is a good friend
That steam cleaner you used on the carpet can also be used on upholstered pieces. Try it on the new gold chairs, it should brighten them up a little.
😉Thought the exact same thing!!!
Yes. I wouldnt sit on them w/o a good clean.
Phillip is a jewel and has great taste! Everything looks so lovely. A lot of our thrift shops do not have very good furniture to even fix up!
