There are a couple of examples with the R99, wingman, and G7 that has PW skins. The Teal Zeal flatline skin is PW. Yet the sales on that was poor bc everyone had the BP flatline skin. We shouldn't give credit to EA for being a good company, because at the end of the day they made a PW skin bad just to sell better PW skins. Its like buying a good PC and then being given a crappier one so it evens the playing field. The BP was definitly advertised as a PW skin since DAY 1.

It’s not a pw gun. It was a lvl 100 and 110 bp cosmetic. It was grind to get a decent skin. It’s been over two years since it came out. There is no problem here and anyone that thinks so didn’t know what problems are.

I think the only other option they had was making another base legendary for the flatline and giving it the heatsink iron sights. Then it'd be like the R9, where you know it's better but you can unlock it for free at least

I’m fine with them changing the sight on the recolor coming out, but it’s not cool to change a skin from TEN seasons ago that people both paid and grinded for. I personally do not have the skin, and I would have be thrilled to purchase the recolor, but there’s honestly no point now. The skin’s cool, but it’s not worth money when the advantage is removed and other legendary skins are available.

I think it’s totally fine to nerf the sight on the recolor, but it’s their own fault for making a better iron sight 10 seasons ago. I don’t believe the skin fits my taste enough to purchase it without the iron sight advantage, so I won’t be getting it, HOWEVER, they shouldn’t remove an item that’s 10 seasons old that people paid money for and spent time to obtain even though it would benefit me since I do not have the skin. They did the same to my Wraith skin I bought - Woad Warrior. They completely changed her fingertips and arm design overall. I bought her for that cuz I loved the golden fingertips with the heirloom. I contacted devs and they told me to watch twitter for updates. I haven’t got any info about it since. I will try to contact them again i see.
They should’ve just made some of the current legendary skins have better iron sights that way people can get it for free while the people with that one can still use the skin
Checkout the Teal Zeal that’s in the store now, if you have a friend who has it, get them to drop it for you test it out. I find it to be very usable and I’ve used it more than the heatsink style for a while now.
It’s not just about this skin. It’s the fact that they can get away with changing items you have already purchased and own. If we allow them to do this then it will just happen more and more
I’m not sure how to break this to you, but you don’t own cosmetics (or anything) in a game. you purchase the ability to use it while in game. they, as the developers, have every right to alter or even remove the item and they’re doing nothing wrong.

Buying a finished product means its finished. The iron sights was intentionally made that way. If I bought the skin for the iron sight, then I should have the iron sight. You dont buy a PC and the company replaces a part because its not fair to other players. In reality we all know why they did this. So other skins would be sold. If they really cared about PW skins, then they would have changed every skin that is considered PW. Why not the R99 skins, G7, or even the wingman skins?
But isn't that kinda how games work? Games get updated all the time. You shouldn't expect to buy a game and have it never change or get updated. It's called balancing, it's like if a dlc came out for a multiplayer game but the dlc was too strong and needed a rework. They're going to change it because otherwise it's just unfair for the people that don't have the dlc. Skins don't normally get changed but that doesn't mean they can't follow the same rules. This isn't a balance change, since nothing related to any Weapons nor Legends were changed for this Midseason patch. Poor Revenant. Cosmetic items that are placed within in a paid Time-limited track usually are not changed after the obtainable has ended. So, if this change had been done during Season Four? I wouldn't have minded, however, this is Ten Seasons later and only addressing one Cosmetic. This means every singular skin with a unique sight could he changed.

I really don’t see why people are so mad. I get that people paid for it and spent time getting it but at the end of the day if your raw aim is bad then you’ll lose no matter what skin you have and it doesn’t make a huge difference in someone’s aim anyway. It only really helps in specific scenarios and most of the time people find scopes off drop anyway

I own the heatsink skin and am glad they're bringing it in line with other skins. I finally get to switch off it and try new skins now.

@@monk3yd1c7_6 I 100% agree, but I believe I addressed that in my first comment: Nobody complained about it/it was a problem until they teased the recolor coming out. I think it’s totally fine to nerf the sight on the recolor, but it’s their own fault for making a better iron sight 10 seasons ago. People paid money and grinded for it, and it’s been over 2 years now that it’s been in the game without issue. I don’t believe the skin fits my taste enough to purchase it without the iron sight advantage, so I won’t be getting it, HOWEVER, they shouldn’t remove an item that’s 10 seasons old that people paid money for and spent time to obtain even though it would benefit me since I do not have the skin. That’s just wrong, and it’s their own fault. That’s like purchasing an internet package with a promise of 100mb/s and the company openly drops your speed to 50mb/s months into your contract without any refunded money. It’s just wrong.

They did the same to my Wraith skin I bought - Woad Warrior. They completely changed her fingertips and arm design overall. I bought her for that cuz I loved the golden fingertips with the heirloom. I contacted devs and they told me to watch twitter for updates. I haven’t got any info about it since. I will try to contact them again i see.

Checkout the Teal Zeal that’s in the store now, if you have a friend who has it, get them to drop it for you test it out. I find it to be very usable and I’ve used it more than the heatsink style for a while now.

I’m not sure how to break this to you, but you don’t own cosmetics (or anything) in a game. you purchase the ability to use it while in game. they, as the developers, have every right to alter or even remove the item and they’re doing nothing wrong.

Buying a finished product means its finished. The iron sights was intentionally made that way. If I bought the skin for the iron sight, then I should have the iron sight. You dont buy a PC and the company replaces a part because its not fair to other players.
In reality we all know why they did this. So other skins would be sold. If they really cared about PW skins, then they would have changed every skin that is considered PW. Why not the R99 skins, G7, or even the wingman skins?
But isn't that kinda how games work? Games get updated all the time. You shouldn't expect to buy a game and have it never change or get updated. It's called balancing, it's like if a dlc came out for a multiplayer game but the dlc was too strong and needed a rework. They're going to change it because otherwise it's just unfair for the people that don't have the dlc. Skins don't normally get changed but that doesn't mean they can't follow the same rules.
I'm not saying you're wrong about their intentions though. I just don't like your analogy, because I don't think it compares well to video games that are still getting updates. So I agree with you about what they're trying to do, but I personally feel like this isn't a bad change as long as they start taking other P2W sights out of the game as well at some point.

It is rare for Cosmetical Items that to be treated like a Separate piece of Dowloadable Content.
This isn't a balance change, since nothing related to any Weapons nor Legends were changed for this Midseason patch. Poor Revenant.
Cosmetic items that are placed within in a paid Time-limited track usually are not changed after the obtainable has ended.
So, if this change had been done during Season Four? I wouldn't have minded, however, this is Ten Seasons later and only addressing one Cosmetic.
This means every singular skin with a unique sight could he changed.

They are saying themselves that they don't want cosmetic skins to give an advantage in game which is their reasoning for changing the skin. I didn't say that removing a pay to win skin made it a balance update, I was comparing this change to balance updates. I basically was saying that games alter purchasable content in updates all the time and just because skins aren't normally changed doesn't mean that the same logic doesn't apply to them.
My second paragraph also said that I don't really agree with their choice to change the skin unless they decide to fix all the other pay to win skins.

Going back on this comment, it still feels like an unnecessary change. There are other skins that share a similar nature, the 'Zero Point' R-99 Skin was amongst those.
So, why are they changing one Skin unless they intend to bring it back as a Recolor. Which, would likely sell less because of the Nerfed Sights.

I really don’t see why people are so mad. I get that people paid for it and spent time getting it but at the end of the day if your raw aim is bad then you’ll lose no matter what skin you have and it doesn’t make a huge difference in someone’s aim anyway. It only really helps in specific scenarios and most of the time people find scopes off drop anyway

If anything this makes it less competitive based since there's more luck included since you can see less of your enemy you're assuming your bullet will hit without depending mostly on skill. If you want it to be skill based don't restrict the use of that skill with a scammy handicap

Never knew it was such a big deal. I have both reactive flatline skins from season 4, I barely even use the iron sight. I mean yeah, it has more visibility but there are other guns that have this similar "feature" as well. I always just use the 1x-2x sight on it.

This means, that each and every skins after this has to be analyzed to make sure it has no p2w features and hold it above their heads. On top of that, all skins need to be re-reviewed to make sure that all skins be buff or nerfed accordingly since there is such a thing as a skin buff/nerf now.

A limited time skin with better iron sights than any other skin is by definition pay to win so i see this as a good thing. It would have been nicer if they just improved the default iron sights but from their perspective changing one skin is easier than changing all the others.
