IT sounded more like an Eldritch abomination or inhuman entity that fits "Floating rock hovers ominously" that the movie relied on, sent shivers down my spine in theaters that made it closer to being terrifying then anything bombastic might have. At least the slow choral bits did. Definitely worked for how confused Godzilla was everytime the rock did something like fly or make this weird lumpen thing seconds before it beat the shit out of him.
This movie was the closest we can get to Godzilla vs The Thing.
5:14 is one of the few things I remember heavily from this movie. The way it builds up as the stone stands tall out of the water is perfect.
