I've been a dive master for a long time and have watched vieos on masks ( buying, fitting, etc.) and I have to say this video was the most informative. You guys went into so much more detail. The next time I have someone confused on which mask, I am going to have them watch this video. Awesome job and thank you for making it.
Should I have my own scuba gear like dive gloves and dive hoods and dive boots and dive fins full wetsuit and dive mask and dive fins bcd and regulator
It really depends on how much diving you'll be doing and where you are diving. If you go often and dive in cold water, then yes, it's worth having all of that gear, mostly because rental prices really add up. If you go to a tropical place once a year for some diving, I would get yourself at least a mask and computer but you could rent everything else at the location you are visiting.
after I start using anti fog spray. I never go back to spit. better overall. no spit smell too. some defog spray even have fragrance like lemon. very nice and fresh to dive with.
Another great video guys! I wear glasses and never contacts - therefore I bought a mask I could put prescription lenses in. As I understand, not all masks can have prescription lenses put in so be sure to check first. But it’s 100% worth it for divers like me that don’t wear contact lenses.
Hey guys, for people who wants to go through the pro carreer as a dm or idc and carry 2 mask. Would you suggest getting 2 times the same model ? Or getting 2 different models that fit our face ? (=and increase so the capacity of providing a good spare mask underwater for students/fun divers ?) Thanks for the amazing video ! Leo
I have a Cressi big eyes as my main mask and a frameless mask as my backup. A frameless mask fits easily in every pocket and they often fit very well to a lot of faces.
Hi there. I normally carry with me as a professional a frameless mask different to my mask or the ones from the shop. In our shop we do have 2 different sets of mask but is true that frameless normally fit better.
I mean Stacey.... she is from california, we can't blame her LOL. I hope you are doing well, I hear about the new 14 days lockdown starting on Friday. Take care, we love you girl.
You guys are making awesome Videos for new Divers, back in the days when started diving went through few masks before finding one I like. Now my favorite is Atomic Aquatic Venom best mask I ever owned.
Hi buddy, thanks!! With Indonesia close until next year, we have the chance to dedicate time to our videos and help new diver that doesn't have access to the water or dive centers now. I never had an Atomic mask myself but we had a few for rental in Mexico and they are awesome.
You mentioned in the video about masks for narrower faces look for a deeper space. What are some masks that you recommend that fit that category? Thanks.
Hello Craig, so for narrow faces like mine the follow ones works very well: Cressi F1 Mini Frameless. TUSA Tina. For women. Cressi Eyes Evolution. Aqua Lung Look 2. Scuba Pro Spectra Mini. I personally use the Scubapro and I´m really happy with that one. On the Video description you have some links that will take you directly to some of those masks.
You can see some of them around but yes, they are more old school, I think valves get broken with time and was not easy to find spare parts anymore, but they were nice.
Thanks!! Me in particular (Aitor) always have problems with rental mask etc... I don't go out of my house without my diving mask jijiii. BTW your channel is doing great! Really nice videos.
great video, funny to watch, thanks alot. Aitor, i really like your attentive and your unpretentious way. Hope you can help me: i never found a mask that really fits my shape. Like you, i have, especially at the temples, a very narrow face/ indentations, but otherwise a big / long shape. Which mask /brand is in your opinion most suitable with a firm /secure seal at these areas? I also have a beard like you, so in this area it should also seal quite good. Thanks in advance and stay healthy!
Hello there! Thanks a lot for your comment, I been having problems with my mask for my entire carrier as a diver and in 12 years I tried pretty much anything you can imagine. The 2 mask I'm using right now are working pretty well on me, I have two depending on how long is my beard or sometimes my main mask work and the day after with no reason is flooded all the time. So with kinda of long beard I use the Scubapro Solo. When I trim or shave I'm using a low profile mask for free diving :Cressi Nano Try to ask around your diving friends if any of them are using those mask and give it a try. Good luck searching for the perfect mask and if you find it please let me know!! Dive safe!!
@@AzulUnlimited Hi Aitor, thx for your helpful response. Seems like we could be twins ;=) Ill chek these two masks, and if i find another one, which fits me well, ill let u know.
Birds are also a problem. Make sure the skirts are free and not tucked into your hood. The hood should go over the mask skirts or it should leave a gap. Hope it helps in the Royal Navy for diving and firefighting equipment, we had to shave off birds and mustaches or you could not get a sea for these face masks.
Yeah thanks for that! we (warm water divers) totally forget sometimes about diving in cold water and how important is the position on the mask and hood. For moustaches I know vaseline works and also shaving just the frame under the nose to leave a clean gap. Thanks for adding that useful tip!
Lmao 🤣 He's talking about "Simple Green". It comes in concentrate, when we used it on Navy ships. Lmao 🤣 It's supposed to he diluted, something like on spoon per big bucket or something. But, if some is good, more must he better! Lol So, people would make it so thick, it would be very, very green. Lol
The mask with the window is the same idea of using a clear skirt mask, to more light in Personally I like both, a mask with a wider field of view and visibility when I'm just appreciating nature, and a black skirt to be more focused
Check out some of our favorite masks in the video description 👆🏻

Amazing!!! I’m so glad we were able to help and I’m super stoked it’s an ongoing resource for you to share. Thanks!!
I love old school looking masks 😝
Of course you do... hahah
I like his saying, “greener the cleaner”. Thanks this is my problem now. Leaking constantly is very annoying!
He's full of great sayings! Mustache wax works well for people, I've been told 🥸
@@AzulUnlimited thanks for the beta. I’ve been workin with silicone. It last for awhile but a mess.

Hey, that's why we have different options for tools and gear! To each their own :)

Hey, any tips for diving with mustache? How to help seal the area under nose?
Some people use wax, but Aitor just got used to having a little water in his nose 😆
I can’t believe Sarah hasn’t heard of greener the cleaner! 😱🤣 thanks for a nice video 🐠🐡

What happened to masks with purge valves? As I recall that used to be popular
You can see some of them around but yes, they are more old school, I think valves get broken with time and was not easy to find spare parts anymore, but they were nice.
