    Wow so y’all were at Nimrod lake too ? That’s crazy we were just chasing Weather. Arkansas looked good Sunday night so we left east Texas at 6pm. Drove to Hot Springs, looked around decided to head north into the national park because of clouds and longer totality. We just looked for the nearest lake on Google maps and ended up there! It was great! The weather and the eclipse were awesome. I saw 2017 but today was my brother’s first and now he’s hooked too. Wish we could have met yall.

    Because "the heavens declare the glory of God". We are overwhelmed because we were created to connect with our magnificent, loving Creator! Witnessing His power, genius, and majesty through the impossibility of a total solar eclipse just thrills our souls because we are witnessing a tiny calling card of the divine. Jesus is IT, kids. Call on His name!

      Well said sis and what a small world to see you here. 😁 Jesus' grace surely is the best gift to mankind and personally as for me, would not have it any other way, as I know I would have been completely lost if it was not for such amazing; unconditional grace and love from Christ. The eclipse feeling of joy is a tiny speck, even less than a speck, compared to joy that comes from Jesus when knowing His grace is truth and would not exchange His grace for anything that this world can give which is so temperary.

    "It makes me feel like I am a part of something bigger"...well there is someone bigger whom created it all and his name is God, and he created the world and all that we see and even all that we can not see, that mankind marvels at all it sees, and yet sadly mankind turns its head from God when it comes to giving credit to the Creator God. God have mercy for we know not what we do.

    The woman with the Pink Floyd shirt on made me chuckle with her words.
    I’m glad you were where so that you could see the total eclipse. I was in Arkansas at a McDonald’s off I-40 in 2017 and though we did not see a total eclipse, it did get darker and cooler for a bit, and then it got warmer and brighter again. Awesome experience then and glad I experienced with others there.

    April 8, was my second totality. This is my take on it:
    As close to a miracle as you can possibly get. Nothing else comes close. You get to feel the connection between you, and the universe. We, are in space, and while our eyes are glued to the eclipsed sun, our minds wonder off to another world. You feel insignificance, happiness, fear, excitement, pure awe, sadness, and so much more all at the same time. You get to see that things are way bigger than our problems here on Earth ever will be. You get a sense of time as well. Time is fleeting, we get older each day while the Sun and Moon do their daily dance in our sky.
    One day, a solar eclipse will occur, and I will not be around anymore to catch that eclipse.
    I will try for Spain in 2026, for the next total solar eclipse.

      Did you go into the path of totality?

    • @stedydubdetroit
      @stedydubdetroit 2 місяці тому

      @@JonathanPetramala no. On purpose no. If it happened to be in my neighborhood, then there is some magic in that happenstance. And it may have moved me, based on that majesty appearing instantaneously without warning, and ending just as quickly.
      On the contrary… to plan, to travel, to convene, to post online about it, book a hotel.. to try to avoid expecting dashed…. To get ALL excited about it… to perform those rituals ...that would falsify the experience me me🙋🏼‍♀️
      The act of changing my day for anything, to anticipate anything so warmly, to seek out purpose, is in turn, exactly how to find to purpose.
      I always find purpose. Not in the result, but in the journey.
      There have been other cosmic events in my lifetime, (I’m 42) in which I’ve partook, and yes, they were interesting. Although, without really good telescopes and photo lens’s, I could never even see them in their clarity. . Until now of course.
      The technology, and coverage like yours, allows the enjoyment from afar.
      Your totality piece moved me, because it moved them. Thank you ‼️🫶🏽👏🏽
