    A nice winter wild camp with sub zero temperatures and overnight snow. Our excuse to try the F10 Helium UL1 tent and Richard to try out the Big Agnes Copper Spur HV UL2 Bikepacking tent whilst still in our local lock down area.

    To stay so chattie and positive while setting up a tent on permantly frozen ground reveals a lot I think. 😉 couldn't help but enjoy it thanks for posting.

      @@AndrewParkOutdoors cheers sir. Do you use it with the footprint? I’m considering getting the footprint and then on warm summer multi day hikes which I’m planning next year to leave the inner at home.

    Nice vid Andrew, keepmthe, coming, I have the ul2, I love it, but again not so keen for long spells due to lack of head room, other than that, it's a solid wee tent... 👍

    Helped to buy one today. Needed something lighter and bought this for 60 quid used only once. Not a 4 season I know but light and strong enough for fair weather I think. 👍🏻

    Hi Andrew, enjoying your adventures. I had the Helium 2, which I found to be a great wee tent, but for long spells inside, as you mention, like the 1, headroom was an issue.
    Currently using the Xenon 2+ which you also featured recently - palatial and good in quite windy conditions, but wouldn't trust in a gale. Awaiting the the Scarp 2 coming back on sale. It looks to be the goods for unknown weather for trips to The Outer Hebrides, Orkney or The Shetlands.
    Would value your opinion if you ever get around to using that one.

      Reckon it'll be good, had the scarp 1 few years back and QC I believe has much improved since then.

      Ewen is the Helium UL1 sufficient for one man and his gear for a soloist. Would be very interested in comments you might like to give thank you ATB Jim

    • @BrokenBackMountains
      @BrokenBackMountains 3 роки тому +2

      @@jimtilbrook4635 It is sufficient but would still be cramped depending on gear. I can fit my exped downmat and a 60 litre rucsac inside. I still have room. You can toggle back the inner to make a larger vestibule for cooking but I usually cook outside.
      It really depends on personal preference. It is fine for me but others may prefer more room. If so, the 2 man might be better. If you were going to be stuck in it for a whole day due to weather then it may be a bit too small but for sleeping in, it is fine.
      Hope that helps, Jim.

    Nice video, can anyone comment on the effectiveness of the fly sheet as it appears to be quite high off the ground on the pole adjustment side.

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  3 роки тому +1

      Yes I noticed that Julian, I think it might be critical how you feed the pole sleeve as there wasn't much adjustment in it when I tightened it. Having said that weirdly I didn't get any snow drift in the vestibule other night.

    • @JCJ7754
      @JCJ7754 3 роки тому

      @@AndrewParkOutdoors I noticed the same issue with several Vangos over the years, I can only guess its to allow full adjustment when the fly is at its slackest, too much gap in my opinion, but like you weirdly never really had a problem.

    • @AndrewParkOutdoors
      @AndrewParkOutdoors  3 роки тому

      Yes I've noticed there's a real shortage of tents this year, I don't know if the Litetrek is being replaced, but looking at the market generally it's probably a re supply prob with covid impacting in shipments?!
