Finally another Matchbox action drivers set
Hello 64, Once again, your video post was entertaining and educational. As a standalone playset, it would make a great birthday or Christmas gift. But as an Action Drivers theme playset, it's way too large. It's too large to land at the airport or anywhere else. If I find it on sale, I will buy it-just for the vehicle that comes with it. Moving on, let me focus on your review of the city graphic. Granted, some images are nothing more than filler, which is disappointing. I like how they blended in the extra-large parking garages, but I'm unsure if I can incorporate them into the Action Drivers City my grandson and I are building. I like the idea of that construction site. Matchbox has had such playsets in the past, so it could be a possibility. Naturally, a hotel would be great. I picked one up at Menards (HO SCALE), which was large enough to fit in. The idea of a cargo ship ( car carrier) would fit in, even if it was a bit larger. The soccer and tennis court complex could fit as would a forest or camping theme set. Sigh!, looking forward to your next review. Take care Jack
Agree with you there - I actually like the helicopter but am feeling the same oddities about it as everyone else regarding them trying to fit it in within the rest of the AD line when it’s much too large to cohesively go with the playsets. I’m very interested in unboxing the new parking structure and the dock function. I don’t mind them coming out with vehicle sets as long as they keep more of the playbase sets coming, but I definitely don’t need any more truck based sets, ha.
I don’t know if you noticed but there is some other building in behind the huge transportation center thing. I think it’s a dealership. Also, they could add a parking garage to the hotel and soccer stadium if they make them lol.
The white building with the Matchbox on the front of it is a filler building they use a lot in the graphics. Sadly it’s not a new set 😩

Yeah idk why they keep releasing these bc collectors sure aren’t asking for them ha. It’s definitely a line aimed more at the toy level, so maybe they are just trying to get younger audiences interested in the brand that way.

@@64Wheels Simply because, as you always say, there is no "play value" by adding that helicopter to my other drivers sets in my city!
@romriodemarco and that’s a fair assessment. I will be getting the next set, the bigger parking garage set, sometime next week, so I’m much more looking forward to that one!
I...genuinely don't understand the hostility toward these being Action Drivers sets. It's fun! It's cool! It'd be nice if they all had the connectors, but even without that, these all seem really inoffensive, and in my eyes, really entertaining. But, if you don't want them, you can just...not buy them. Simple.
I actually really like this helicopter set. I think this one blends better with the other playsets. People really don’t seem to like the truck versions though lol. I think they are great stand alone sets/vehicles, I just think people get caught up with the Action Drivers name being on them - and the fact that they could be putting the time and effort into new playbase sets that people have been asking for.
Either way, if it has the Action Drivers name on it, I’m getting one, ha!
It's not hostility toward these extra-large sets. It's a disappointment! Initially, the Action Drivers line ( the airport, medical center, fire station, gas station, original parking garage, and even the recent car wash) is size and functionally compatible. It delivers on the original idea of creating a town or city. Suddenly, Matchbox jumped the shark and added the volcano and the extra large parking garages, and then came these two large trucks, now the helicopter. Granted, as stand-alone playsets, they're fine. But, they should not be tied to Action Drivers.
@@jackdietz8047 ...and yet, all those exact shark-jumping sets are the ones I like most. Dare I say, they're the most fun, the most 'Action-'y. The rest I find...kinda dull, one-note. Good for dioramas and not much else. Not Action-y at all! The volcano has so much going for it, the scale of the trucks and helicopters are awe-inspiring when you apply your imagination, and...well, big parking lots are handy for storing your cars in a nicer way than carrying cases.

I’m really hoping we do get a large cargo ship from the vehicle AD line - it would be cool if there were containers and other stuff with it too.
