As a jr. high kid at the time, I totally recall seeing and realizing that the magic of Lee/Kirby was coming to an end,and that other things were going to replace Marvel comics in my life. It was sure fun while it lasted!
Regardless of the quality of the storytelling, Jack was always delivering the goods. I agree, that Thor cover was more dynamic and superior. Even in mediocrity, Kirby's visuals were exciting. Thanks Fred.
Great memories. Yeah, those last few THOR issues were definitely rushed, and didn't the inkers start to rotate between Sinnott, Adkins, Everett and maybe Giacoia(sp)? And although the remaining Kirby FF stories from this point on became single-issue stories, I think his THOR run managed to squeeze out a couple more 2-parters. I seem to recall more Loki shennanigans and a Surtur story coming up soon.

I like the unused Thor cover, and the Thing in a battle for the survival of Earth, great epic comics
Happy Birthday Jack .
Mr Jacob Kurtzberg (I think that's how ya spell it) Jack Kirby a true pioneer way ahead of the curve imo
Thanks for the flashback. Happy Birthday Jack - truly a magnificent pioneer.
You're welcome, Jay.
Another well done video. Thanks for all the good memories when comic books were fun.
My pleasure, Jeff.

Yes, but the next four issues are single stories.
