@LittleRedWolf How do you know about watching Bumblebee, the greatest Transformers movie🍿🎥ever made? Did you saw the greatest Mark Wahlberg movie called Instant Family?
The bumblebee movie had better logic: The Decepticons lied that they were the 'good guys' and framed the autobots as fugitives. Even then the humans trusted neither of them and mainly only wanted in on that sweet technology. Even John Cena pointed out that "They're called Decepticons", and this point was actually acknowledge, but made inconsequential to the potential benefits of Decepticon technology, which is at least more solid than "hrr we think autobots are bad, let's hire literal decepticons who have deceived us time and time again to help hunt them without any checks on their power."

The Bumblebee movie's cybertron scene shows us that you don't need to be funny to make a good scene. That scene is by far the best in all the movies, watching these two factions fight for their survival is honestly entertaining and badass.
The Bumblebee movie was awesome because Bay had nothing to do with it. Whatever he touches he ruins. Case in point, the new garbage "Rise of the Beasts" movie.

It can't even have a payoff. They showed that Unicron is the Earth. How can you have characters ON THE EARTH fight A TRANSFORMED EARTH. One question that writers couldn't figure out in the entire script writing phase while audiences figured it out in literal seconds.
@@vise_atoxity8083 Uhm, I believe you kind of misunderstood him. He mentioned Transformers PRIME, an animated series, handling the Unicron plot competently. Not the Last Knight.

I think its described in the games Fall of Cybertron and War for Cybertron. There are gameplay videos which entirely describe the events. I think Bay should've stocked to that story. Its so deep and the characters are relatable.
@@username-yc3bd yeah, those were. The game experience, even when I was just watching a 4 hour long gameplay was awesome. That script must be simply be put to action. It would make an awesome series or sth, if not crammed into a movie

As a family tradition, my father and I saw this film in theaters. We literally left with a headache and I genuinely couldn't remember the plot after having JUST seen it.
Me and my father likes watching movies as one of our bondings, we absolutely favored the transformer series and when these god awful "things" came, we just straight up never talked how terrible it id
Yeah, I like how the first 3 films were somehow watchable but the action gives me headaches because of the designs of the transformers, then they make cleaner looking transformers yet the plot is so fucking dumb that I wanna write these movies myself or just end it with dotm
It's a bit annoying that I'm probably gonna watch the next Transformers movies regardless of its quality just because I love this series so much... I'm part of the problem too
I had heard that Michael Bay was basically bribed (because he was done after the third movie) into making the last two entries in the transformers series and him making the last two was his middle finger to paramount
Im pretty sure it was, I heard that in an interview that he was done after 3 and he wanted to go on and focus on his other projects, but paramount wanted more money
Also, what filmento failed to adress here, is that he thinks everything with The Last Knight is Michael Bay’s fault. When he says all the multiple plot points for example is all just MB shoving everything into the movie. When in fact it was producer Lorenzo DiBonaventura (producer on all TF films and sort of a showrunner) who wanted to cram everything into this one movie. Michael Bay and the writers room wanted to make different movies covering the King Arthur mythos, Bumblebee in WW2 and evil Optimus vs the Quintessions. But Lorenzo rushed him to make everything into this movie. The same could be said for the runtime. It was supposed to be 3hr, and that would make it way more cohesive. But them Paramount freaked out when it got leaked and pushed Bay to make it shorter. So it is a bit like the Justice League version. I just hoped Filmento could have done a bit more research on this, when at least this time not EVERYTHING is Michael Bay’s fault like he says in this vid.

@EnderGlitch They did. With the Bumblebee movie, it was confirmed a reboot in 2019. The next movie is supposed to be not connected to the first five live-action movies either.
@@littlemisseevee2309 I got back into the series in 2018 after Bumblebee came out, which gave me hope that Michael's damage can still be undone. However, many others, like yourself, have turned away, and the recent Netflix show is not enough to bring people back.
@@dkkanofkash8798 yeah but I didnt really fall out of it because of bay, sorry if I implied it, I just kinda lost interest, but when I saw this in my recommended all I could think is “there’s a fifth?”
I think the perfect example of how Michael Bay stopped caring was during a behind the scenes featurette, when a producer said the only reason they brought Barricade back was because "kids liked him."
About half way through production they sent a poll out on TFW (transformers world forums). Basically like the biggest transformers fan site on the interenet, anyway they asked who they should bring back. Everyone agreed barricade because he hadn’t been killed off and his death in Dotm was ambiguous enough to believe he hadn’t died. Well in the film bonus content they literally said they did it for kids and had no mention of him not dying, they just said they brought him back for no reason. Just pure shitting on ACTUAL fans of not only the transformers franchise, but the bay films themselves. Just no effort whatsoever. That’s why everyone hates the last knight. Bayformers fans and regular folks.
You know what drives me completely insane about these movies? I have been a transformers fan since childhood, and I love the franchise. However, to the mass public, these movies are apparently all the transformers franchise is, and I absolutely hate that. The more and more I think about it, the more and more these movies infuriate me so much. The more you watch the cartoons, read the comics, or play the video games, the more you realize that those would've made a better film series than what we got. And what really worries me is that is the feeling that these movies turn against the transformers franchise, which they shouldn't! Because, transformers is an amazing franchise, with so much lore and stories that'd be perfect for a live action film series. Just not this! Not this abysmal, wasted opportunity.

See, in TF1 he just thawed from the ice/holding cell below the Hoover Dam, so his view of the tiny little humans was all new, in RotF, he saw the fall of his mentor at the hands of Optimus while assisted by humans, in DotM a similar thing with Sentinel (while not his mentor, but still a thing), he kinda started to "respect" those tiny little creatures. He might still be hell bent on conquerring Earth or rebuilding Cybertron, or whatever his ultimate goal is, but he might as well find humans as a power to be reconned with. They managed to kill most of the Autobots and imprison his fellow Decepticons on their own towards the 5th movie, so might be a thing to consider, if you're helping "your god" to rebuild Cybertron and need your fellas to aid you, that you'll be asking politely.
I can’t stand this movies constant aspect ratio changing. One moment it’s an IMAX frame, then the next is 2:00:1 frame, and then is the usual 2:39:1. When movies do that for no reason, it angers me.
I think it was a case of pick up the nearest camera, not bother to look at what type of frames it shoots in and Bay simply yelling "ROLL CAMERA AND ACTION!!!"
@@superomegaprimemk2 I would understand if Bay wanted to have multiple angles for the same take, but it's not even a scene difference. It changes from shot to shot.

18:15 You know, I didn't realize just how little Michael Bay cared for this movie until you showed us that completely unedited clip of that action sequence. Aspect ratio isn't necessarily a creative thing. It can be, but doing the technical work of maintaining it if you don't care about it is the bare minimum of film editing. That action sequence really hammered it in for me just how little shits Michael Bay gives; absolutely zilch.
Not only that, but these "try hard to be badass" soldiers of Galvatron die like bitches. But hey, one of them robbed the bank, so cool (at least whoever wrote this try to convince us of this).
This is so sad. As a keen G1 transformer fan, it makes me so upset to see my favourite characters reduced to nothing and have personalities thinner then paper.

Never understood how the Transformers movies were too heavily human involved. Its right there in the name Transformers. In the animated series there where whole arcs that didnt even involve humans. he should have just stuck to the drama and stories involving the Transformers.
I imagine it's a choice related to the action: it's better for a big blockbuster movie to have giant robots fight from the perspective of the humans, to make it seem grander. And also because, if you did that, you'd have to develop them a lot more for the audience to relate, and the producers didn't want to go through the effort of that and just slapped a bunch of generic human characters as the protagonists instead.
In contrast to say Godzilla. The transformers can actually talk. They can show emotion. They actually get all this talent but they just won't let the robots take the lead. Watching clips for the films, the Transformers can clearly hold the audience attention. We don't need the hot chick or the screaming man boy. Actually some of the humans Iike Lennox could totally stick around. They are useful and I'd be more intrigued in seeing that group and the transformers interact as equals. I think it's more that Bay just wouldn't change it up. I think other directors would(and did) in Bumblebee.
A lot of it has to do with cost. All that CGI takes time and money, because it is a live action movie at its core, rather than fully animated. Probably part of the reason why the robots are made up of jagged parts is so that they can cut corners during the fight sequences and not have it be apparent. If I recall correctly, Bay himself stated that one of the reasons product placement is so prevalent is that it allows for more robots and more fight sequences. That product placement aspect applies to organizations as well. Showing Chinese things in a positive light makes the movie more appealing to Chinese investors and no doubt gets some access for locations. Meanwhile, the US military likes movies that show them in a positive light, seeing them as a recruitment tool. And even with that, the film makers still look to cut corners where they can, like in how they used a sequence from The Island and added CGI to it to use in the Transformer franchise.
Not joking... I was sick because of it.... If i wouldn't watched the film with my 12 years old cousin, i would walked out from the cinema after the first 35 minutes
Watching this video, I repeatedly had moments of: "I swear I saw this movie", followed by: "I remember nothing about this scene", then "oh yeah, I def saw that". It just shows how remarkably unmemorable this film was. The entire movie is a giant "shrug" but then again, I felt the franchise nose dove after the first one and even the first one was kinda garbage but it was different and fresh at the time so it was fun.
@@ltb1345 I respectfully disagree. The first one was a spectacle for sure and a new flavour of one at that but beyond that I haven't felt a single one has been very good.
one of my biggest gripes of the movie is how michael bay tried to “modernize” the transformers design. the original cartoons had bright colors and striking designs made to clearly distinguish between characters and clear cut fight scenes. these movies just make them all grey CG abominations where you can’t even tell which is which in a fight
@@Gadget-Walkmen The plots for his movies also seem very dumbed-down and convenient, so the characters never actually seem to figure anything out for themselves. Instead, everything is just easy and laid out for them each time.

@@chadderbug7587 And that was a mistake because the movies got worse and worse as they went on, ROTF should of been delayed to get pass the writers strike but its obvious the people writting the scripts simply do not care about the property one bit and are only in it for the money, there are far better fan stop motion films out there but the offical stuff, I think has gone downhill after the Prime series, its pretty much Hasbro saying "Here is a bunch of new figures based on Transformers, give us your money and shut up!"
12:13 this kinda begs the question. Why would a Decepticon rob a bank that stores HUMAN money? I honestly expected an oil rig, a power plant, a water dam, or a missile silo to be a Decepticon's target, because energy and fuel to convert into Energon, which is the lifeblood of ALL Cybertronians, and Decepticons are greedy? A missile silo is practically free real estate since they can stockpile on weapons and payloads. But a goddamn bank...?

On one side, yes! On the other hand, I like how everyone honestly interacts like we would in real life in these situations as opposed to "hyper formulaic, everyone has a particular purpose and caricature to play to feed into the plot & protag". I had heard that Michael Bay was basically bribed (because he was done after the third movie) into making the last two entries in the transformers series and him making the last two was his middle finger to paramount
That would explain so much
Im pretty sure it was, I heard that in an interview that he was done after 3 and he wanted to go on and focus on his other projects, but paramount wanted more money

The more you watch the cartoons, read the comics, or play the video games, the more you realize that those would've made a better film series than what we got. And what really worries me is that is the feeling that these movies turn against the transformers franchise, which they shouldn't! He might still be hell bent on conquerring Earth or rebuilding Cybertron, or whatever his ultimate goal is, but he might as well find humans as a power to be reconned with.
If the humans weren’t there then it would have lost it’s fast pacing and that is the reason why like these movies

"...He speaks now..."
Because stupid. 😑
Might be just for fun? Honestly just look at Mohawk, he looks, like he's got a few loose screws in his head, he'd definitely do anything to piss off human authorities, just for the fun of it. Not everything has to have a valid reason.
I was wondering when this video would come out! 🤣
On one side, yes!
On the other hand, I like how everyone honestly interacts like we would in real life in these situations as opposed to "hyper formulaic, everyone has a particular purpose and caricature to play to feed into the plot & protag".
In the end, Bay didn't want to work on more Transformers, and clearly Paramount wasn't gonna take no nor change leads for whatever reason. If anything, Bay helped show what's wrong with Hollywood.
True
They should've let him stop at the third movie, like he wanted to.
@@g.d.graham2446 Wrong. He's still responsible. He's an A list director and producent, even if a movie studio (Paramount) or a toy company (Hasbro) force him to make a film he doesn't want, he's still obliged to comply and make it the best way he can. Doing shit on purpose just shows, how he as a person doesn't care anymore and what a joke as a director and producer he became. Imagine you're working in a big company and your boss comes with a new product, that you don't like. Would you purposely sabotage it? No, it wouldn't be ethical. You'de still end up doing your best to make a product the best way you can, even if you personally don't like it.
Am I the only one who didn’t notice Merlin is played by Stanley Tucci
Me too
thought i recognized him....
13:45 I find it funny that he talks about the audience getting pulled out of the experience while at the same time he pulls us out of the video by announcing a sponsorship, he probably did it on purpose though.
And to think Michael Bay roped in Sir Anthony Hopkins into this. GOD DAMN!
His role as Odin in the Thor films had more dignity than this.
Stop it. Hopkins praised Bay and said he loved working with him. If you watched the movie, you saw also how fun he had playing this role. He is an award winning actor played so many tough roles in his life span, why can’t he have fun late in his career? Is there an contract which states that well known actors can’t be in fun blockbuster movies?! The Transformers franchise has brought in nearly 5 billion at the global box office, Bay is also one of the most profitable filmmakers ever. Even if you don’t like it, doesn’t mean most others does as well, as proven by the large fanbase and extreme amount of money these movies have gotten.
@@believer4002 stop it. Hopkins stopped caring long ago. He didn't know he'd be having fun before he signed on, just what kind of pay he'd get. And popularity isn't always a sign of quality
@@believer4002 The Last Knight became the lowest grossing film in the Michael Bay Transformers franchise. There's a reason why Paramount wanted to do something else with the franchise when they worked on Bumblebee.
@@michaelstrong5383 still made over 600$ mill globally. But ofc I get that people stopped coming for this one. Who could expect a fifth movie about transforming robots directed by one of the most controversial directors causing fatigue? Young audience gets tired quick and want something else. People got tired of Transformers, what’s the problem? Two of the movies in the franchise brought over 1 billion dollars and are on top30 most grossed movies of all time. You can call every single person who spent money on this franchise a dumb person, but I’m sure you also spent some bucks on this. It is so popular to hop on the «hate-bandwagon» and be part of the «flow» when you hate big movies. I especially hate people criticizing without having seen it, or seeing it on a crappy illegal site. This should be experienced on the biggest theatre possible.
Gotta say I thought Age of Extinction was actually pretty cool, wasn't perfect by any means but it felt alright to me. Lockdown was one of the best parts imo.
But then you get this and.... oof, what were they thinking.
🤡
@@plushimusprime2926 what?
we all know that this is an elongated commercial, right?
Also the new love interest is basically just British Megan Fox
Wait really
But elongated commercials can be good, you see.
One could argue that the whole MCU was just a series of elongated commercials to Infinity War... And to all merchandise with the Marvel brand slapped on it...
@@DonVigaDeFierro yes, but as nerdstalgic put it, this isnt how you make a movie. this is how you make a commercial. Some marvel movies put being a movie before being a commercial, while others just set up infinity war first, and then build a (normally weak) plot after that
But so was the Lego movie
Great vid. Working under Bay on these movies must have been a nightmare for a lot of people. I have to assume there was a good amount of staff looking for better jobs and a way out at the first opportunity. If the leader doesn't care it's almost impossible for anyone else to.
I distinctly remember almost falling asleep a few times when watching this movie in theaters.
I've NEVER felt drowsy when watching a movie in theaters before or after.
“Look at that arm, that arm is like... bigger than rocks!” -Michael Bay, billionaire filmmaker
Bigger than *The Rock's*
So he can’t be a normal everyday man saying funny things when he is a billionare filmmaker? Tell me then, «Miles». How is an billionare filmmaker supposed to act at his own house while filming funny stuff for his own Instagram?
@@believer4002 lmao, chill, I didn’t realize he meant dwayne the rock’s arms. I thought he said that the arm is bigger than rocks.. like earth rocks. I was pointing out that it would be hilarious if this super-successful dude described an arm as “bigger than rocks” cuz that makes no god damn sense
@@mileskenney3520 well you should’ve thought for more than 2 sec, then. Everybody made that connection that it was The rock. They worked together on «Pain and Gain» together as well. I just thought you made an insulting comment towards Bay just to get likes, I’m tired of ppl like that.
@@believer4002 are you really this upset?? Please calm down, I didn’t mean to upset you and your fav director Michael bay. I literally just commented what I thought was funny, I wasn’t being serious at all. Oh, and sorry I didn’t remember the LEGENDARY movie Pain and Gain, how utterly foolish of me 😂😂🥱
10 minutes into this video, I actually realized that I HAVE seen this movie. Though I hadn’t. Didn’t remember it. And it took 10 minutes of this video for me to remember I have seen it...
ME TOOOOOO
I wonder how i managed to watch this movie being sober:) . But there is so much shit going there, you cannot fix holes in the story with anything though.
this
Thats some nice choice of words.. yes i too can remember the first three movies vividly ..they had memorable scenes.. well these new ones cant say which one i am watching... The china dinosaur ones or the horns poking out ones or bumblebee vs optimus ones
I can barely remember what happened in it-something about Unicron being the earth? And horrible aspect ratios?
Oh my, the Sound Effects on this video made me laugh, specially the ones where South Park's Michael Bay face shows up, it's almost like the mixture of "oof" and "bruh"!
The organ joke with the butler bot was the only "joke" I laughed at in the movie
The butler is my only highlight
He just wanted to make it more... epic.
Cogman is the only character in this movie with a personality.
Robo-Butler~
@@shawerful5209 Shame that they completely ignored him being a Headmaster. He was supposed to decapitate Nitro Zeus at some point and take over his body, but they dropped that concept somewhere during development (late enough for the old design and gimmick to make it into the toy).
I grew up as a huge fan of transformers, but now that I'm older, it's pretty interesting to use these videos as hindsight criticism. Great video!
The first Transformers movie is a masterpiece compared to the rest
To be honest
That first one may have some pretty bad acting, but atleast it did a great job to make the transformers into live action
Indeed
The TF Movie from 1986 was the B E S T.
All are masterpieces
Tho my fav is dark of the moon , i agree
Transformers fight scenes: I am amazing
Transformers Plot: how strange, there's nothing here
8:00 I may be only 18 but I think that made the moment even better because it showed that Cogman and... the British guy had a deep emotional relationship even if it was covered with sarcasm, formality and harsh words. Yes, it's kinda funny and detracts from the somberness of the moment but instead makes it bittersweet. This Transformer that served the old man's family for generations respects most the humblest of the lineage, the one that lived for but a singular moment. And Cogman, dropping all formalities, expresses his respect to the corpse of the man. I liked that.
As a kid i loved the franchise, and seeing it become the clusterfck it has become is.... quite the ride
Couldn’t agree more. ILM’s work is the only reason I watch them occasionally. The rest is just awful.
6:47 I think the fact that she could run across THOSE cobblestones in THOSE heels is really more impressive than driving. Good points all mate!
13:08 which is especially wild to me because MB made a whole big deal about how he has a writers room with like 14 writers specifically to keep track of the continuity and lore for the movies.
well he does but doesn't mean he focuses on it. He is aware of how shit it is going to be but either doesn't care or cuts it out for other stuff.
3:53 was that the fucking Library from Halo? Jesus, don't give me a panic attack
Seriously I had a fucking heart attack
Had ODST music at the very beginning as well
The Transformers franchise ended for me when i fall asleep during the 3rd movie big fight scene.
Honestly, I would've done a better job of continuity in Transformers movies
These movies are connected?
@@manjuananthnadhajeesh3581 nope nope the franchise ended on dark of the moon and the last 2 are just cringey fan fictions
@@HEHE-to3tp just watch trans theories, it makes those last 2 movies make more sense.
@Vari_Ares_YTP Basically all of them would help to understand the Bayverse.
No you wouldn’t of. You’re wrong, yours would be thousands of times worse
I almost fell asleep in the theater during this. Should've left, but tried to power through
