The video explanation is very good. Not long ago, I bought a set of this renhotecic brand tool set, and just watched this video to learn how to use it. It is recommended that friends who like to repair by themselves can prepare a set.
agreed - really nice to have a dialed set of hex wrenches or tips. The AE $25 tips i have used along with my hitachi - both 5 years ago are still going stong. Epic Nasa tee!
You are in for a treat when you get the hudy a. I bought the all in one tool set in the nice pouch and it was easily one of the best purchases I have made. I did snap the 1.5mm and 2mm tips but that was trying to remove rusted grub screws on rc boats. The set has a ball end and reamer and even arm reamers.
I have had hudy 13 years. no lies they really are worth the money. I have imperial and metric. at the time I bought them I was bummed out on the price but a older racer really pushed for me to buy them and he was right. no lies they are the only original RC Equipment I have kept since the start.
Nice vid. One thing I look for in tools is a pass thru on the handle. I find that on my larger vehicles like 1/8 buggies and truggies, having the pass thru allows me to run another driver thru and get much better torque on the larger screws.
Great honest review as always! Mip or nothing for me! I have stripped so many heads with anything and everything else. I used to hate working on my rigs worrying about stripping screw heads, no more and I love tuning my rigs now too. I have never stripped 1 screw head with my MIP. They cost but it is cheaper then replacing every screw every other year. The only wrenches even close are the HUDY.
I have been using the same set of Hudy tools since about 06 and I wouldn't think of buying any other brand. Some of the tips were getting so worn out I ended up cutting off just the bad part of the hex and I still have enough to fit down all the way into screw head still. They also don't seem to be as expensive as the mip's also. I also love the Hudy tools because how they mark them so you can tell what size they are just by looking at the handle.

I haven't owned any of the individual drivers yet... I have an assortment of tools that have come with RC Screws kits, with vehicles (RTR and Kit)... and also some tools I've bought, like a Dynamite starter set... My first set was from OFNA, but I've misplaced the handle... I recently got some AE rigs for racing, and picked up an AE hex driver set that has bits that fit into a blue handle... these bits are NICE, they fit screws tightly and have yet to show much, if any, wear.... I've just watched this video, as well as the HUDY tool video you posted about the $300 set... and I'd agree that quality tools are important, for $300 you could outfit yourself pretty nicely... probably with all the hex bits, nut drivers, pliers, setup tools, body reamer and scissors, soldering station, and just about any tool you could need for RC.... I think a car stand and setup tools is next on my list.... any suggestions? Working out the setup adjustments is my next step... so far I've just been working on driving skill, shock oil, and tires...and of course getting used to working with ball diffs... now to sort out how and what with the other adjustments... like camber, caster, toe, Ackerman, roll center, ride height, droop, and the myriad of other adjustments.... I'll be watching as many videos as I can and reading up between now and next season... any input would be most welcomed! Thanks again for the awesome channel! Keep shining bro....

I'm a big fan of the Dynamite drivers. That was my first set of tools 15 years ago and the larger driver still have the original tips, I broke all the small ones over the years of course as one does with small driver tips. The only issue with the Dynamite's is that they are quite short. I mostly use Hudy now and they are pretty good. Nice identification system with the rings cut at the top of the handles.
I was always using the hudy ultimate- and limited- tools but sadly you had to change the tsip every 2-3 month when working a lot, I then changed to Arrowmax honeycomb and can only say, that the tips are balistic! I now use them for like 3 Years and never had to change a single tip, also I was working more on my cars, than with the hudy ones. Sadly the Arrowmax Honeycomb, as well as the Hudy limited and -Tool grips can hurt by time in your hand. So perfect Screwdriver for me would be a Hudy pro tool (plastic) grip with the arrowmax honeycomb tips.
My first set of tools were a losi set, still love the tools but worn out by aprox 4 years of racing. Then bought a single 2 mm Hudy to replace the worst driver, just to find out what the fuzz is about. Mho was that the hudy driver wore out in about 1 year of racing and I find them too long. Good for few things but not ideal for me. Now i ordered an mip set to continue racing, we will see if it holds up
You need to try the Arrowmax and Hudy tools for comparison. Arrowmax are awesome tips, and have fantastic 2mm ball-end tips. Missed out on the Black MIP tools here in the UK (I know of only two sets here), and won't buy the yellow handles. they need to make them with decent collored handles as standard.

Firstly it's for 1/5th scale car /truck so I'm wondering if they go up to maybe 6mm Hex on the MIP tools cus I can't seem to find them in the UK that size! Also this is an Arrma vehicle & I'm sure you know they do like to be Liberal with "Red" Threadlock 😡 I'm wondering if you have Ever stripped a MIP Hex drive on a Threadlocked screw? TIA
I couldn't agree with this more Jason I myself have went out and spent about 70 bucks on a set of Snap-on tools for my RC and I absolutely wouldn't use anything else other than a good quality tool MiP is also excellent choice

Before everybody beats me down, "no I was not over tightening or torquing I barely even had the screw half way". Just a cheap, poorly manufactured tool! And I'd like a quality, like my MIP set, ball end set!?

I was going to buy the Dynamite tools when I started but the reviews were so bad that I decided to go MIP and haven't looked back. Arrowmaxx make some nice looking tools as well. A local guy has a full set of Honey Comb tools and they are pure eye candy.
knurled handles do have good grip, but if you're building a new kit, your hands will pay the price getting torn up. If you want handles that are knurled giving good grip without the pain after long hours of use try the tekno tools. Although I was lucky when choosing because my first set of tools were the high end losi tools, now discontinued but still real good after over seven years. If I needed to buy drivers I'd give tekno a try. most tools have to compromise between comfort and grip. In the rcnetwork review the tekno was knurled giving good grip, but not so deeply knurled that it will leave you with damaged skin.
swap out the AE tips with Hudy tips a lot cheaper to get you where you want to go. Some of the Integy drivers with the bigger handles have excellent tips, Imo.
Are you sure the yellow handled ball end wrench on the end is metric? Usually with those if they were metric they had red handles and standard had yellow handles.
I know MIP make a boss set of tools, but what do you think about DGI ? They have really good set for $100 cnd. I was lookin at but not sure if I should get it. What do you think ????
i tried both Hudy and MIP. i found the hudy tools will round quicker under higher loads, however the MIP tools can randomly break. if taken care of the MIP stuff is defiantly better then the Hudy, if MIP added some extra grip would be great... All in all both quality are great i do think the mip tools are more wear resistant and come service time, MIP directly/(even if in a differnt country) looked after me when i broke a 2mm , free replacement and was quickly delieverd to the other side of the world with no shipping charge... - dont think Hudy will replace your tools for you...
Good video Jason, but you mentioned "Ty Works stuff" and I think you were referring to T-Work's--in which you compared them to cheap non-machined Chinese made titanium screws. Nothing could be more incorrect! T-Work's screws are fully machined grade 5 (6al-4v) Titanium or fully machined 7075 t6 aluminum. They are some of the BEST screws on the market--as good as Lunsford IMO, and NOTHING like the molded grade 2 Protek, Yokomo or Tamiya titanium screws. In addition, T-Work's makes FULL titanium kits, full aluminum kits and 1/2 titanium 1/2 aluminum kits for many many different cars. Also, MIP tools were great in the 90s but they have TERRIBLE slippery handles and I frankly feel that there fit in screws in nothing special. Lots of good reasonably priced tools available nowadays. Some good ones (besides Hudy you mentioned) are Arrowmax, EDS, and the new Associated tools.
I'm a tool junkie when it comes to RC tools and tools in general. The MIP's are by far the best.....and I have never has an issue with the handles being slick and I do prefer the larger handles of the Black edition. The Team Associated FT tools that you have are a very nice handle (I have the nut driver set), and the new versions are just as nice.....I just didn't think the tips are up to the MIP quality. The Dynamites were the absolute worst. I had that set as well (I think my second set of tools) The bit was too short and the handles were heavy and TORE up hands. The knurled finish was terrible and honestly, I would never buy another knurled finish driver. Good info Jason

Have you ever owned Hudy tools?...I'm curious about your experience with them....i agree that they Dynamites can be hard on the hands.....but when I'm scrambling to change shock fluid and diff oils at an 1/8 race i like the grip some of the other handles like the hudy and AE can provide.
ShortCourseWorld never owned Hudy.....but have heard nothing but good things, and the price dictates. Of course now with X-ray branching out in North America, I'm sure Hudy might become the next new thing.
The RCNetwork hey rich and jason, in France Hudy are the most used hex drivers. The tips are very very good, but the handles, for me, are the worst that you can have on earth. These handles are so abrasive that you can't use them without getting your skin irritated after only 1 screw. I personally use the TeamC lightweight drivers because the handles are awesome, the tips are great, and just try lightweight drivers and you will love them. Hudy hex drivers are even harder on hands than Dynamite ones.
Jason, I've found that the Hudy tools wear out so much faster than the MIP. The tips just get rounded out and wear out screws. Plus the driver shaft on the Hudy can bend and flex when you're torquing down screws.

MIPs are the best hex wrenches that I have, including my Wiha that I use outside of RC. I really wish that they would make larger sets.

The hudy pt range is good for the money. Uses the same tip as the more expensive versions but has a plastic handle rather than the aluminium handle

Have you heard of arrowmax drivers? Really popular here in Germany, some people like them better than hudy drivers
huddy tools are the best, i have had huddys for 3 years on the same set and built 4 kits
Good vi l have turnigy and like them but just started buying mip and I like the turnigy a lot but the mip is much better
