What's wrong with Walmart? Or Harbor Freight? Or Ace Hardware? I prefer Amazon for same day free shipping, competitive prices, and an absolutely astoundingly good consumer first return policy. But if eBay is your thing--your money, your hobby--do your thing.
@@RCVideoReviews Sorry, my bad. Yes and all the other suppliers not just eBay. Yes Amazon my offer great delivery times, but to say Thier prices are competitive and good is nothing but a joke. Scamazon more like. But each to Thier own i guess.
I'm going to pin this so the millions and millions of people who chose Amazon everyday for service AND PRICE, will see your warning they are being ripped off. I just want to ensure those of us too stupid to comparison shop and evaluate prices from site to site have visibility to your fact driven guidance.
@@k1ortia Amazon prices are at best 30% above the competition because that's the cut that Jeff Bezos takes to build his sex dungeon or whatever he does. Percentage goes up to 50% if the seller uses Amazon "recommended" advertising spam features. I like Amazon for its return policy. That's it. I don't know what magic metropolis that Channel Owner lives in that offers same day shipping. The fastest option I've ever seen is next day shipping and that's only on items that sell so frequently that Amazon has them in every warehouse. I don't live in a tiny town either, and California is of course the west coast shipping destination for many items, but I've never seen a single same day shipping option, no matter how much money I would be willing (or not) to throw at them. Amazon does have great customer service, if you buy something and the seller chooses not to honor your warranty, Amazon will refund you if they feel like it. But their prices could only be charitably called "competitive" for the simple fact that: if you sell products on Amazon, you sign an agreement with (Satan) Amazon that you will not sell your products at a lower price. That's not competitive pricing, that's called a price fixing agreement. Competitive my hairy aunt Fanny. Sorry I swore. I said the "B" word: Bezos. Now I've gotta go to confession.
If you are going to do any soldering, you need a solder station with ajustable heat range. I use mine for so many projects , not just RC. Those helping hands are also a must have item. I also found a rechargable power screw driver to save my hands. Those tiny little kit style screw drivers are worthless. Like my dad said, investing in good tools is not only a time saver, but saves your hands and prevents hurting yourself. Good video!
I've had my toolbox for almost 20 years now. It goes with me to the field and has proved invaluable to me and other club members! It has torques, Alan Keys, various sizes of pliers, super glue and much more. You can't work on heli's, my addiction, without the proper equipment!
I used to build electric skateboards, so when i got into fpv, the building, soldering and programming is very similar just in a smaller scale for fpv so i already had most of the tools i use to build. Great video John, saved some in my Amazon list to purchase.
I've been using these "GUM Interdental Brushes" for scrubbing the PCB after soldering, to clean off all the flux residue. They're supposed to be for flossing but they are REALLY great for cleaning tight areas with alcohol.
Great video!!! Excellent content and prices very affordable. Im just getting into rc hobby I’ve seen some vids where every item on the list is over $100 ridiculous. im literally going to get at least 7 items from list. Thank you!!!!
I use magnifying glass w/ lights as well so I have this type that has also a pair of 'helping hands' (alligator) integrated into them. Also a blue silicon work mat with magnetic pockets to secure screws too. A couple of sticky tack or clay to secure FC/ESC when soldering if the helping hands is too bulky on my desk. Nice review! Gotta look for that thingiverse version of wowstick screw box.
just as a warning to you guys, beware that Hakko soldering stations are one of the most counterfeit brands. only buy one from an authorized retailer. the fakes are hard to spot until you open the unit. also, ryobi makes a $25 lithium ion drill/screwdriver that's excellent for RC cars etc.
@@RCVideoReviews I did notice that. I thought i'd share this info because someone might see one listed for $70 and think it's a good deal but end up with a fake. the fake seems to work ok for everyone who made a video about them. but for that kind of money a fake is a ripoff. hakko used to have a warning on their site about counterfeit products.
Definitely--sunlight is the best disinfectant. Good for people to be aware and get the real deal. I try to be careful with my links. Don't want to send folks to a ripoff.

I do airsoft as a hobby, but your video helped me a lot.

I wish I had know this before I got into the hobby! Thanks :)
Nice assortment of tools and holders. I have some of these already, but a couple I don't have. On order now. Nice video John.

Thanks for the vids John! I’ve bought 4 or 5 items that you recommend in the last couple videos. 👍🏻
Glad you like them!
Ryobi has a battery operated soldering iron that is super portable and actually quite good!!

AirHammer out!!
A good pin vise is worth its weight in gold.
Thank you
You're welcome
Everyone needs a set of Alligator Forceps, once you get them, you'll wonder how you lived without them.
great list, I use most of things you listed here, though I must mention my wowstick 1F stopped working just after 1 year of use
I bought mine July of last year and it's still going strong.
What is the tool for crimping? JST, GH, SH conectors are hard to do.
I have one for servo pins, but nothing for jst style. I think I would prefer to buy those.
Hello 👋.
Atari Jaguar also has 64 bits. Just like the WowStick.
Do the math.

The link I provided in the description is where I bought my original Hakko and it's sold by the Hakko Store on Amazon.

If you can’t fix it with a hammer it isn’t broke
That explains why the last time I got the boss upset she came at me with a hammer. I must be broke!
