    I try to thank my body for the pain signals. It is doing its job. Telling me that it thinks something is wrong and is protecting me. I thank it for protecting me, and that it can let go and relax now.

    This is honestly THE best video I could have watched, so bloody grateful.
    Two mindset reminders that hit home for me were: "significance" the pain is no longer the most significant thing in my life. And "healing is NOT a full time job"....stop trying so hard to fix myself. I cried tremendously when you said these. Good tears though, there was some freedom in these realisations.
    Thank you thank you thank you, you have been invaluable to watch & learn from Dan 😉

    I have longcovid almost two years. Reading up about TMS last 4 months. Was practising a bit but nothing special. Suddenly it clicked. I woke up three weeks ago understanding it. Knowing in ok. The ruminating became quieter. Since a week it clicked a little deeper. I don't dare to think much about it, but I have more energy and just decided I am better one day. I feel better. Yes, there are some symptoms but I say: no worry, it's the nerve system and your brain wanting to protect you. I'm amazed. Want to cheer, but don't dare to yet. But I had a great week with biking 10 km. After not biking for 2 years. A part is still ' waiting ' for it to come back. I'm trying to be more careless about that. I rest, but not out of stress anymore. I stopped pacing, calculating all my activities.
    Living in a box made me more miserable then taking the' risk' while saying: you won't have a setback. And it worked. That's proof! Also for the days that are harder, I know it works.
    I'm not there yet, but it's starting to feel It goes fast. We'll see. Thank you so much for your inspiration!! Such a help.
    To understand the concept truly makes a big difference.
    Could I be healed already?

    Hearing “don’t be binging these videos”… as I binge a ton of your videos haha. I think getting rid of the pain has become the significance of my life. And like you said it’s only increasing my awareness and fear towards it. Learning to change that mindset and know that I’m already healed and not broken.

    Just stumbled upon this great work, and Dan. Loving it. One thing that I find both fascinating and frustrating is whenever I tell myself that I am safe, I can get a slight rush of fear. The very thought that I might be safe, saying the word, kicks up an anxious response. Anyone else get this?

    My life started changing when I stopped believing what I thought the emotions/thoughts represented. Started replacing any negative thought with “CANCEL! Every day, in every way, I’m getting better and better!” Started telling my body over and over when i was feeling an emotion/inflammation that, “it passes!”
    Got this info from Emil Coué in his book about auto suggestions. You attract in your life what you ruminate on: this comes in the form of bodily sensations and more thoughts. Your mind is automatic: start learning to manually drive your life. Sending love and compassion in your direction 🤍

  • @Rebelmusedesign

    What if the real problem is that people compare you others? And make you feel like a failure. I’ve decided the best route for me is to tell my brain to go to h*** and keep doing the things that are making me feel better and try to not be afraid when things get worse again. I don’t understand what happened to me the other day. I went to an appointment and was told that things were getting better and the next night I had every pain possible in connection with my injury. It’s like my brain wants me to be in pain like you say. That’s why I have to take the brain out of the equation and not think about that part of it anymore. It’s going to do what it wants to do and all I can do is keep moving the best I can, which is not good enough for me. I hate another injury that fights against me. I guess the only thing you can do is push back by moving forward despite how hard it is.

    Is there an instruction manual people can download? Something that someone can carry with them. Due to the complexity of following the countless steps and procedures I still feel like I’m floundering in a storm. I’m desperate to get this right because there’s no room for error. I’m not sure how much more of this life of dizziness I can take. I’m scared because the symptoms are beating me up and I’m scared of making mistakes that will prolong my sickness. How can someone be indifferent to symptoms so harsh and dominant? I don’t know how many times in a given week I breakdown and cry. Thanks for everything you do.

    Hi Dan,
    You said about thinking about how much fun you can have by doing thing that is fun. But what if all the thing that was fun to do before make you scared and worried. For example I love watching movie and playing video game all the times before buy now i can even watch TV or monitor more then few minutes. I ruled out all physical condition doc said i was find. I got this after covid. A lot of symtoms but the most bizarre one is why i,m affraid to do the thing that i like to do before. if t force my self , it will give me headache.

      Basically pain or symptoms created when the brain perceives danger as opposed to a physical problem.

    Thanks Dan another great video. One thing I’ve found when my back pain isn’t around the dizziness is!! It’s almost like one symptom replaces another. I’ve had trauma since a child and much stress in my life abuse, kids etc. so my whole life in fight or flight as it seems. Does this happen is it normal to have one symptom replace another? X

      Is this because I ignore my feelings because I think I shouldn’t be feeling sorry for myself or it hurts too much to face?

      You don't need to figure out if you are doing something to cause this. None of this is your fault. It's where you ended up. And...there's a way to recover. Symptoms often shift from one place to another. That's proof your body is fine and it's the brain creating pain in response to perceived danger. How do I keep the fear response down when I feel lightheaded, dizzy or faint. I have been dealing with dizziness and lightheadedness on and off since 2020 which led to anxiety and panic attacks. I was sitting at my son’s doctor appointment this morning and suddenly felt lightheaded and dizzy.. I was afraid to drive home and begin to feel nauseous. I made it home but I feel exhausted now and the dizziness comes and goes but not as bad as this morning. How do I not fear that feeling of being faint at the appointment this morning.😢

      Understanding what is causing it and it's not a sign of illness is the foundation. Normal caution when dizzy is a good thing. Trust the dizziness will pass as you settle yourself. Relax your body and breathe calmly.

    Question: what if the sadness and anger is because of the symptoms? If you are feeling them then doesn't that affect mindset? Thanks!

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  4 роки тому +5

      If the only emotions you feel are about the symptoms, the distraction is working flawlessly. You already know you are sad and angry about the symptoms. Always ask "What else?" This video touches on that subject: ua-cam.com/video/NVeQscx6IZM/v-deo.html

    I really like what Dan says, but in my opinion everything is too serious for me to help.. I have a lot of very unpleasant sounds in my head that react to ordinary sounds and I can’t even leave the house... anyone who has had this, I’m sorry was it someone?

    Hi Dan !
    Thank you for this vidéo
    I have a Big question for you (sorry for the Bad english. It is not my language ) in my actuall tms journey, i try to look at thing positively and to change my mind and to be grateful. I live with by boyfriend who he is really nice and supportive with me. But some times it is really hard to live with him because he IS very depressed from many years and I feel all his dark energie. Tonight he told me that he have not joy of live at all. That made me so sad and angry because I just want be free and in joy and je Can break all this. Some Times I am asking me if your relation is good for my recovery. I know it is selfish because He is cute with me and we love each other.. Do you have some advices for that.?

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  2 роки тому +3

      Marie, I'm not big on relationship advice. However one thing I will say is this. If he makes you feel better about yourself, he may be a keeper. If he makes you feel worse about yourself, maybe not. That's my rule. I want someone in my life that makes me feel better about myself.

    what does TMS stand for - someone please?

  • @paulgeorge9228
    @paulgeorge9228 Рік тому +1

    i dont rlly like what adam heller says, like about how u gotta ditch all the physical consultations like physical therapy/acupuncture/etc. cuz it interferes with ur healing process
    shouldnt the repressed emotions purging process help your chronic pain regardless of whether you are treating the structucal cause too?
    if the belief component was that important, belief itself should be able to fix your chronic issues

    • @PainFreeYou
      @PainFreeYou  Рік тому

      It's not just about belief. Clarity that our body is already fine is super important. Going for physical treatments for a body that is not the problem is like taking your car into the shop for them to work on an engine that is working fine already.
      Physical treatments for TMS confuse the subconscious brain into believing that the BODY is the problem. It's not. TMS / Perceived Danger Pain means the body is okay and that the brain is creating pain based on the perception of danger.
      Try to make sure that your approach teaches the brain you are safe.
