When I was 19 in California I got popped for being immature behind the wheel of my car in a parking lot. The judge asked me if I wanted to go to trial or do community service to have it be a simple infraction. I did the community service and the charges were dropped. The options were to do Caltrans (trash pick up for CA DOT) or Salvation army. I chose salvation army. I worked with a mix of reformed ex cons, drug addicts and other community service people. The people on the clock and getting paid were there from diversion programs. The non-pay people had to do the grunt work of unloading the trucks and plucking inventory to be rotated to other stores.
I am 99% convinced John got popped and is in some sort of program to avert charges. Does he drive at all? My bet is he got popped under the influence and someone felt sorry for him and offered him community service.

Not that he will ever do it, but redemption, adoration, forgiveness, and hero-status could all be his if he had any self-awareness, if he owned his flaws, if he could mock himself with good grace and actual humour, no one could hate him. He'd be welcomed on all the shows, get offers of gigs with comics, and turn his whole existence around.

I believe John did work at a Salvation Army, but it wasn’t volunteer work or for a salary, he was there for alcohol rehabilitation. The Salvation Army warehouses are all rehabilitation centers for drugs and alcohol and they don’t just hire civilians off the street. Everyone in the rehab program lives there in a residential building for a set period of time and all residents must work in the warehouse, not for pay, but to earn their keep.
I know this as facts because I used to have a contract working on a local Salvation Army’s trucks at their facility for 20 years and I know the ins and outs.

I looked it up when that story broke before Christmas. There’s a Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center literally right next to SJ’s condo that he sold across from The Home Depot. He said he saw Andy Dick there. This is the real story Karl needs to break.
Andy being there wouldn't be surprising. He's basically homeless these days, he has pending cases all over the place, and has to gulp big cups of vodka when he wakes up to do nothing but drink more all day every day.

My favorite lie of his…is that he was the best baseball player on his high school team. Which he played third base, not shortstop. Then he made the big play in the World Series for the team. You guys have this all wrong. When you go to the salvation army for free rehab you are forced to either load trucks or sort clothes. You also get a stipend so he was getting paid on theory. He also left rehab early.
Centers in different cities have different programs; in Denver, ppl in the rehab program started unloading donations off the trucks and into the warehouse. We found some real nice stuff one day: we found a bow and arrows, Christmas ornaments as targets, a bulletproof vest, and a brand new bottle of CK1.
They transferred me to washing dishes, which messed up my carpal tunnel BAD.... Before I could get switched, I got into it with the head chef, also a beneficiary, and they found a way to kick me out, which was my final strike on probation.. Super bullshit bible-thumping company masquerading as a place that helps ppl.
Regarding the Child Support issues, yes the court will throw you in jail and keep piling on the debt while you are incarcerated. It is a corrupt system. This is the one area where I can feel bad for SJ. The court is probably charging him CS based on what he made at The Tonight Show and he definitely is not pulling down anything close to that.

Did John serve time? You mentioned he took some time off from his show. Did he serve time for not paying his child support? I’m curious, because if this is court ordered he may have spent a few days in jail and was required to work at Salvation Army to pay in arrears.
It’s not legally possible to be “fired” as a substitute teacher. They don’t fire you, they just quit calling.

Perhaps the most tragic thing about John is that his desperation for friends and allies leads him to welcoming a troll, in Vince, to TROLL HIM, on his own 'show', just so he can have a conversation without being openly mocked and ridiculed.
Vince's mockery is tacit, understood by the audience, and perhaps even by John, but John's alcoholic brain, hubris, and pride prevent him from calling out Vince mocking him, so long as he doesn't do it openly. Unless the School District testifies under oath that the reason they fired John was due to the information Muttering Jay provided there is no case. There’s no way in Cane that some school district is going to want to get involved in some Mickey Mouse lawsuit, they’ll just claim they fired him for other reasons just to wash their hands of it.

Charging someone with misrepresentation is extremely hard to prove especially in social media cases like this, where the individuals are not prominent figures. If filed in other than small claims court, these cases are usually thrown out out due to lack of standing because you have to prove damages, violation of a NDA, or contract. Small claims have to be heard by a JP in the precinct where the alleged misrepresentation occurred . If it is an interstate issue, the case is usually dismissed. Vince should know this, but it appears that he is once again trolling John.
I been a client at the Sally (not bragging) they don't pay people to load trucks....the clients do it. They pay the drivers' warehouse manager, and one or two workers who are usually former clients to keep an eye on the clients.
While sorting the clothes donated I found over 2 grand in cash and jewelry which is a lot when your working 40 hours a week for room and board. They do give you like 15-20 bucks a week as "gratuity "
