Day 3 in California- Zach and Randy do America with Trevor Bales. What fun would it be if we didn't get into any trouble. It turns out the US Air Force Base takes trespassing pretty seriously. Our saga continues at fourth-generation family owned Johnston Farms, nestled in the fields of the San Joaquin Valley, near the base of the Tehachapi mountains. Johnston's farm potatoes, bell peppers and a variety of citrus including oranges. We found their green house and citrus packing house to be incredibly fascinating.

Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Thanks for another great video on the farm trip. It was interesting and enjoyable and extremely interesting.
First. Congratulations Becky. The commercial you did was absolutely wonderful. You did great. Good product also. Thanks for doing that Becky.
Also sincere thanks to you for all of your editing of these videos from the farm trip. They are great.
Second. Loved Randy explaining how our form works. Put it in the ground and we have corn. Not all of this fancy steps to get the fruits and stuff.
    Good one Randy.
Third. This visit to the orange plant was extremely interesting if I dare say so. Wow. Would never have guessed that much was involved. The automation in these plants is great. They run a lot of oranges thru there. Totally enjoyed the tour of the Orange plant and associated places.
The explanation of implanting the trees blew me away. Never knew that. Wow. How interesting. The gentleman that showed you around and explained this cross breeding of the trees did a great job of explaining the process. How interesting. Never knew that before. Many thanks for the tour there.
Edwards Air Force base. Been there several times for conferences during my Air Force career. That base does a lot of classified testing of aircraft so that is why they gave you no entry. If had known you were going by there, could have arranged a tour of the main base but not allowed in the aircraft testing areas. Super base and a lot of interesting aircraft tests there.
The videos on your farm trip are extremely interesting and enjoyable. This has been just great. Appreciate you taking us along and all the filming. Great trip guys and oh yes Treavor also.
What is this with Treavor ‘s motel. ??? Why not stay with you all. Oh well each to their own.
I will be quiet now. Great trip. Great tours and informative plants.
You all take care and be safe. Looking forward to the next video on the trip.
    Thanks for everything.
    The Iowa farm boy.

I understand what you're saying about classified work on military installations, still, without possession of the federally approved variety of credentials (or entry with someone with credentials), it doesn't matter if the installation participates in "classified testing" or not, every single American military installation on the planet won't let you put so much as your big-toe past their boundary without sanctioned approval plus a credentialed escort, or approved credentials of your own.
And even if you're hanging around outside of entry/on the perimeter, they're watching and you should expect someone's approach to question your presence.
Those Area 51 enthusiasts always make me laugh, when they're out there snapping pictures and lurking around the perimeter, then get all riled-up when someone comes out to question their presence, saying "see we told you they're hiding shit!!!" haha ha
Air Shows and other pre-planned public events with limited/structured access, are very different from appearing at the gate, of course.

Its ok for you guys who live in America, but while I was holiday in the USA (I am from the UK) we must have passed a sign that was a restricted area. For us we expect the signs on LH side of the road , we arrived at a sentry post and was greeted by the rifle barrel being pointed at us through a open window. The Soldier said where do you think you going, I sputtered a reply and he realized I was from the UK. We don't see many guns here in the UK, he said turn around buddy which we promptly did.

Lived over there from 1991 until 1999. Liked Very much. But, about the vídeo, i Sod that you got interested on the Citrus transplant of varieted. Down here we are teached that the roots Will be called HORSE and then you implant other kind of fruit. Usely what you are implanting is a Very sensitive kind of fruit. So, you take a kind of citrus as a HORSE (roots) that is Very resistent to desiase, a root that IS stronger to dry Season than you put an implant from a tree that has Very hight prodution, so you can have a Very sensitive kind of fruit, with choosen hight prodution tree on a Very strong plant👍👍 did you understood?? Sorry about the poor inglish👍👍😁 Like your Channel Very much, keep your good work. Take Care yourself

Not allowed on Edwards AFB? During the early 1960s there were no guard gates there. Yes, I know that because dad was stationed there when I was as young lad. Anybody could just drive on base at any time. Now, you couldn't get down on the flight line but you could drive around the housing areas, and such...
That High Desert area is cold at night and hot during the day. One December day, during 1968, it snowed 1" and shut down the base and closed the schools. Think they'd do that in Minnesota? Yeah. Fat chance.

LOL I'm not sure how many blinks per minute mrs. Millennial was doing during the SimpliSafe ad but it had me laughing my ass off! I'm not sure why but Obviously it probably has something to do with her very dry delivery being quite cheeky like ....well almost all Minnesota Millennials do! but the almost Morse code level of blinking she was doing was entertaining as hell and managed to make an ad in the middle of a video on UA-cam entertaining to watch nonetheless! Kudos to you to be one of the few UA-cam channel's that managed to make me actually back click to see what I just missed due to my 10 second skip!!!

At 21:10 Trevor gets a room at the motel from "No Country For Old Men......." Just waiting for Javier to round the corner with a couple of things. Trevor would fall for the "Hold still a second" 😂

Of course the internet knows everything, and when I asked," can you grow a grapefruit tree from a grapefruit seed", this was the first thing that popped up. "Grapefruit can be grown at home from seeds and planted outdoors in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 9 through 11. Although fruit production can be more limited than that of commercially grown trees, growing a grapefruit tree from seed should produce fruit."

    I live in Bakersfield.
I hope you have a lot of fun in town, The 58 is a very busy highway.
The whole Central Valley is one huge farm.
You need to drive up the 33 because it is just farm after farm for over 250 miles.
I did not recognize the motel that you left your friend at. I hope it was not on Union Avenue. That’s a horrible area of town.

Becky is that possibility for his headache that baby Lucille in your right hand? Lucille's grow up really fast and develop a coat of wiry hair that's as sharp as barbed wire usually pretty thick right at The Sweet Spot! I've personally promise a few robocallers to come visit them with Lucille. Especially the extended warranty and final resting place insurance who seem to be actual living people.

I didn't really know enough about grafting either. I have a small 30 tree orchard here in Texas. I found JSacadura's channel and learned all i needed to know. Grafting is also where those "super trees" you see in seed magazines sometimes that have like 5 fruits on a single tree. Same thing.

16:52 I've seen this explained about avocado trees. If you plant an avocado seed the chance it'll produce something edible in taste is 1 in 10,000. This is because they don't reproduce "true to seed". For something to be true to seed it produces an almost exact copy of itself. Human beings for example are not "true to seed". We reproduce a genetically different and unique creature from the baby's parents and from its siblings every time. if the avocado tree did produce tasty fruit it'd be a completely different variety from the tree that produced it.
