    Wow, all Kate’s hard work and all the good teaching is really paying off. Stevie is looking much keener, showing her capabilities and Kate kept her in a good rhythm all round the course. No more slowing to a trot between fences. So proud of Kate for her work ethic and commitment xxxxx

    Wow, it’s amazing to see how Stevie got the lead right like 90% of the time here when last season she got it right only about 10% of the time. These lessons sure are paying off!

      Yes, Stevie and Kate have been working hard. Even though this show didn’t go as planned, it was still so fantastic to see the improvements with stamina and lead changes. I’m really excited to see how the rest of the show season goes, the more they work on these things.

      I was so proud of Kate and Stevie. Those lessons are well worth it. Kate is such a great rider, I see all the improvements. Of course you know I didn't agree with the judging, but I am bias when it comes to Kate lol. Thank you so much for bringing us along to watch. It makes me so happy.

    WOW KATE HAD THREE DIFFERENT HORSES THIS SHOW DAY. STEVIE'S FIRST GO WAS KIND OF MANIC WITH HER HEAD HIGH AND GOING FORWARD, AND I DO MEAN FORWARD, KATE RODE HER STRONG AND KEPT HER STRAIGHT AND THOSE LEAD CHANGES, WELL DONE KATE!
    STEVIE WAS STILL FORWARD SOME AND CHANGING THOSE LEADS PRETTY GOOD. LAST GO STEVIE RAN OUT OF GAS. LOVE HOW KATE HAS LEARNED TO SIT UP AND RIDE TO THE FENCE HANDS UP GOING STRONG. GREAT RIDING KATE.

    Good job Kate and Stevie. As long as it was fun that’s the most important. You’ll do better next time.

      For sure 😊. A day surrounded by horses and riding is always a good day in Kate’s book. She looks at shows as a competition against herself, more than against other people. She likes to see how she and her horse have improved from the last show, so when she sees that Stevie maintained her stamina and hardly had to fix lead changes compared to last year, that’s a win. Obviously, she would love to place and have a great ride, but when she doesn’t, she is never angry about it. It is all just a learning experience. Regardless of how they place, we still had a great time hanging out with friends, and she got to ride her horse… so anytime we get to do that is a good day. 😊

    Kate did a wonderful job, especially considering the wind!! Stevie did well picking up her correct lead, and also not breaking the canter. I agree with the other fan who said it would be a good idea to avoid going through the middle of the ring.
    Again, I suggest lunging at least half an hour before classes start. If you get to the show early in the day and don’t show until later, I would advise lunging for about 15-20 minutes shortly after arrival and then 30minutes an hour before your classes begin.
    Way to go, Kate and Stevie!!❤❤

    All the work on Stevie’s leads is showing. She was much better landing her leads. I almost thought she was going to make it with out breaking! In the flat class always try to stay out of the center. If you have to make room for yourself that is fine but always try to get back to the rail and really try to avoid having to circle in the center over and over.

    Stevie reminds me so much of my mare, Luna. Besides being practically twins, Luna detests the wind, too. Turns her into a crazy girl. lol I think they did great! Bad luck with not placing, but next time they will for sure. Ride on! :)

      I love that… how funny that Stevie’s daughter is also named Luna! Stevie is definitely making some big improvements (she has a lot more to go, but so far, we are noticing such a difference in her during lessons). I can’t wait to see what she is riding like at the end of this season. The show was a bit of a disaster for them, but that is ok because there were so many great takeaways from it. We are planning on going to sanctioned shows this summer, so it will be a really fun show season!

    Good to see Stevie get better with every round. I think I would have brought her to a walk or circled in the first round to get more organized before carrying on but hey.. they got it done.
    Have you ever tried stuffing g Stevie’s ears

    • @BarnBootsandCountryRoots

      Our horses don’t tend to appreciate the ear muffs 🤷🏻‍♀️.

      Most horses don't like it. They depend on their hearing.

    • @BarnBootsandCountryRoots
      @BarnBootsandCountryRoots  4 місяці тому +1

      I know some horses who work really well with them and are way less stressed when they aren’t hearing every little thing… but that does not seem to be the case with our horses. Like you said, ours tend to get more stressed from not being able to hear.

    • @AllieTeee
      @AllieTeee 4 місяці тому +1

      Because horses don’t have the best eyesight they rely on their good hearing. I use to believe in plugs too but learned they can actually just make things way worse. A horse would rather hear something coming than be surprised.

    How she should taking off her pants with her boots on?😅
    Wind and weather can change much how a horse react. Although the heavy wind they did very well.
    Hunter is known in USA and canada, but not in europe. Last months a few europeen youtube amazones could do it their first time in florida. This esme (almost 1M subscribers) from the UK, kristy snepvangers from the netherlands, matt harnacke also from the netherlands, but he came out Australia and mathilde juglaret de mathilde et sligo of france, all went to florida, ocala and wellington,but not on the same day. They were really surprised.😊

      Thanks. Yes, Gabby and Kate are always so supportive of each other. They just get each other, bring out the best in each other, and are just wonderful friends. Gabby said even if nobody else could come, she would definitely be there to cheer her on because she can drive now. But of course, they all came... every single show, they sit with us for 8-10 hours just to show their support and cheer her on. Not many people would give up their whole day and drive so far just to cheer a friend on. And their whole family comes! We are so lucky to have such supportive friends 🥰❤️.

    • @BarnBootsandCountryRoots
      @BarnBootsandCountryRoots  4 місяці тому +1

      No, they just came to the show to keep us company and cheer Kate on. They come to all of her shows (all last year, too), and are not usually showing, just being supportive. If they do show, they wait around for hours, until the end of the day so they can cheer Kate on.

      I know 🥰. Sam even comes to keep Scott company! If we are there at 7am, that’s when they come. They could just show up for when she rides, and even that would be incredible, but instead they sit with us all day long, rain or shine, no matter how busy they are… they are there cheering Kate on! The whole family.

    Does Julia still ride?

    • @BarnBootsandCountryRoots
      @BarnBootsandCountryRoots  4 місяці тому +3

      Julia has been in a really intensive school program for kids with severe learning disabilities the last two years. We are so incredibly fortunate that she was accepted and has access to their specialized educational program because it has been a game changer for her, but it is designed as an intensive program which means very long days, and she is exhausted on the weekends. Her long school hours, coupled with her loss of confidence in riding after her fall and concussion 1.5 years ago, led her to take a long break from riding. She is almost finished school though and next year she has to return to the regular school system. Once she is home for the summer, she plans on picking riding back up again. She has already started with little rides in our arena and she did a trail ride last weekend. So you will definitely see her riding again shortly. She wants to work with Flora and eventually do a show on her.

    Plz rethink clickbait words like "drama" it's not really necessary!. Plz don't follow daybyday with the clickbait. Laura has made a grand total of 26 vlogs clickbaiting the new horse they won't show.

    • @jennybarlow2233
      @jennybarlow2233 4 місяці тому

      I disagree with this comment on so many levels! Clickbait is used to attract attention clicks and views..... that's what most people want for their youtube channels to gain a following. The way you are referring to clickbait as in dishonesty is also not right because stevie defiantly looked like a drama lama in todays vlog. Not dangerous or unsafe just dramatic. Surely you can understand the term without throwing it at vlogs your actually taking your time to watch and count. And clickbaiting is better than trolling Anyday which some people could say your doing commenting on other videos about day by day ..
