Why is this campground so highly rated if it doesn't even sit right on the shores of a lake or river? It's quite a walk to the lake from what I've seen.

Good question. You're right in that it's a bit of a walk to Fallen Leaf Lake (1,800 feet), and it's about 1 mile from Lake Tahoe. It is a well-maintained campground with large trees and good sized campsites. It's also convenient to the Lake Tahoe area.

@@CampsitePhotos Would you recommend Twin Lakes more? Sometimes those reviews can vary bc what is good for people in RVs in not always good for people in tents and vice versa. I guess it being flat and very spacious (in addition to Tahoe being nearby) plays a big role.

You're right - it comes down to what (as a camper) works best for you (backcountry, primitive, tent, trailer/RV, next to water, in the mountains, desert, near the ocean, etc.). Twin Lakes Campground in Mammoth area is nice too - near the lake(s), lots of shade from trees, campsites for tents, trailers and RVs.

Are those the actual campsite numbers based on their map?

Hi KK, Not sure which map you are referring to, but the campsite #s in the video are the campsite #s at the campground. All are current/accurate.
