I have this radio it’s a great performer on all bands, love the simplicity, and since you mentioned the mechanical fine tuning I love this feature. This radio was geared towards young adults/entry level hence the cheaper quality build, probably made by Uniden or Sangean
What a nice looking radio. I've always been fascinated by Realistics, regardless of their reputation for cheapness. And yes, I feel your pain, Neil, regarding the ebay searches. I once typed "realistic stereo" in there, thinking it a normal enough phrase. Yet I got some delightfully nasty results.
They are just standard electrolytics so while there isn't a kit, they are readily available. I don't think any of the other capacitors would be likely to be in need of replacement, unless physically damaged.
I love it when a radio comes into contact with a customizer.

Thank you for this video, Neil. What do you suggest for how to go about cleaning the controls?
I have the very same radio in my collection. As I live very close to southampton airport I use it mostly to listen on airband.
I have a 6 band radio similar to that.
Mine only has one SW band.
The rest is AM/FM broadcast
2 meter
Air
Police etc.
30-50 mix.
Is it easy to get a recap (replacement capacitor) kit for this model?
