I had similar problems in my hyosung, few things I did:
1. Added an extra high strength wire direct from battery to rectifier... Which solved my charging issues.
2. Changed a ignition coil... One of the big culprits
3. Cleaned the ignition coil grounding points which were rusted.
4. The wiring bunch near the twin chassis which was rubbing against the chassis and one wire had cut and was grounding to the body and that was a green wire... Maybe it's the same wire which is discussed in this video.
5. Cleaned injectors using professional guys
Before IR thermometers were consumer goods we used our spray bottle of light dish detergent/water mix (for mounting tires) to spray each head pipe in turn while the engine was running. It shows weak/dead cylinders easily on single and dual wall exhaust pipes.

Good idea using that temperature gun.. Up until now I've just FLEGGED on the pipes to see which one is cool!!!

The old spit on the exhaust pipes is a good method as well.

I recommend using the temp sensor gun... I still have scars from checking without proper equipment
This is a good and safe idea to find a misfiring cylinder.
Can you share how to fix the issue?
The temp sensor guns come in handy and are cheap enough. Got mine in Aldi and you can stand back and point the laser at the target. No need to get it up close.
Apart from if your piped are shiny and reflect infra red....
Easy fix. Pull the spark plugs out of another cylinder. If cylinder 2 isn't firing, pull the plug from cylinder 4.
You can make a very inefficient 2 cylinder.
when doing the demo you should ground the disconnected lead or you risk frying the CDI. (Spark gap limits the output high voltage.)

Or you could just look to see which plug lead Matt has removed 😁 or you could pull off one plug lead at a time to find the cylinder that is not firing and diagnose problem from there could be a plug, plug lead fual starvation. coil or compression test for a valve or head gasket issue

That's the upside of only having 1 cylinder, you know if theres a missfire because it wont start
I just use a spray bottle of water. If the header is firing it’ll evaporate instantly. If it’s not it’ll stay wet 🤷🏻♂️😂 so would replacing the spark plug sort this?

Dont use the laser temp probe, use the universal contact thermometer (aka tongue) we'll be able to tell the temp by your facial expression at contact.
Would never work on a Ducati though! Mine's got two cylinders not firing.
What was the problem. Ive got the same problem
Had a problem with an engine that has Siamese intake ports. Hole in the manifold which was under a cover. Leaned out 3 and 4 and burnt a valve
l0l firing on 3 makes it burbble like an american v8 because of the uneven exhaust pulses

Helped none. Lol. Can your v twin have a bad coil if it takes revving the engine about 2k rpm to get them both going? I just dis my Yamaha plugs about 1000mi ago. I doubt it failed. When I road 2 weeks ago it was fine, let it sit since, fired it up and here we are. I put fuel treatment and octane, same result.
So basically you're guessing... stop guessing. Working it out

I use to pull the sparkplug cables. If it gets worse then it was a running cylinder and if nothing changes at all I know that this is the little fucking bastard that is not playing well with the others. That saves me from melting one after the other temperature jobby's ;) And I do not even need to go to my garage and can do that on the road on many bikes where you can reach the cables without removing a shit load of things to get there.
It depends how accessable your plugs are. Hence why I did this on the XJ

@@jayflash2035 I know I didn't say it, but I meant by hand. Ha! When I had that problem with my Valkyrie, after about a minute of ticking over, I could feel which pipe/cylinder was cold, and not doing its job.

This is happening to my bike and I’m sort of clueless on what could be causing.
I have recently replace the ecu and tps and did the calibration and now this is what’s happening ..
It’s a Cfmoto 650nks 2015 model.
I haven’t pulled the coil or spark plug to check.
The fuel injectors I took it off and cleaned as well as new fuel pump and fuel filter recently.
Do you think it could be the throttle body itself ?
