Those works great for rocky terrain. One word of caution on the swingarm protection. Take them off after every other ride and clean the inside of the protectors or if you've ridden any muddy or sandy terrain, definitely take off and clean out. If you don't the grit between the protector and swingarm grinds on the swingarm and you end up with a swingarm that looks like somebody took 50 grid sandpaper to it. Maybe that's why plastic zip ties is a better option to fit. I add a zip tie thru the swingarm axle hole in front of the axle bolt around the top for a 3rd mounting point. That zip tie never breaks, since it doesn't come in contact with any rocks, etc.

The Polisport branded ones come with foam backing on the rear to help avoid the grit from sanding the swingarm. You can add some puffy tape to the OEM ones too

Polisports makes these guards, best 30 dollar add on, well worth it, I used the included ties and have raced and trail riding for a full season and they are still there, mounted on a 2015 Husqvarna FE 501.

I run those on every one of my bikes and they do a really good job a protecting the swingarm. Pop them off when I go to sell the bike and the swingarms look like new

Those swingarm guards suck.. I took mine off after breaking the zip ties.. they trap so much sand and mud inside of them too.. your swingarm will look just as beat up either way.. and they making changing a rear tire a pain.

yeah was thinking that could be a problem. considering using VHM double sided tape to seal them on. hows changing the wheel hard? havent had them long enough to know!

Trailbound co they knock your wheel spacers off when changing the tire.. usually in the sand when I’m at the dunes.

Stainless steel reacts with aluminum and eats away at aluminum

That swing arm has quite a bit of aluminum on it I think it’ll be fine for a couple years

@@TrailBoundco Yeah, if you wanted a long term solution you would have to get something made from aluminum to stop the reaction from occuring. The reaction makes the aluminum brittle and break easily.
