This Golf R is impeccably maintained and loved by its owner, but even well cared for cars need some RAD pampering. The owner lives in a downtown condo complex which presents a challenge in terms of keeping it as clean as he desires, so this is where I stepped in. I gave it over eight hours of love with a number of products and processes that brought it back to a supreme level of cleanliness. I have to give a special shout out to Shawn for helping me with the video footage and I hope to see this amazing hot hatch back in the RAD environment in the near future.

It’s quite refreshing to see a detailer on UA-cam hang mats on the wall with those metal clips. Usually they’re just scrubbed on the floor. Nice investment and I prefer this method of drying the mats. 👍

Thank you! It is continuously evolving and I have a big project on the books for the Fall where I will be having a portion of the garage floor ripped out and a trench drain/catch basin will be installed. This will allow me to complete details year-round because the water won't be able to escape the garage as it currently does. Thanks for viewing and for the comment.

Daily Driven Mustangs Sorry, just saw this question. The water flows out to the driveway but gets captured In a little space where the garage floor and driveway come together. I crack the garage door slightly.

You running a water softener or is the water OK where you are? In my part of the UK it comes out the tap like rocks, it's that hard.
therushden Our water is hard as well so we have a water conditioner installed and it does a great job. Great question.

I notice you don't use a pressure washer, is there a reason or is it just cos it would be not great inside your garage with the spray?
I also tend to want to pressure wash off the wheel after leaving cleaner on and likewise after snow foam ,it feels like im removing more dirt if I pressure wash off
Paul Buxton This particular car wasn’t very dirty. Certainly not dirty enough to warrant pressure washing. I do use my pressure washer in my garage but if I feel I can get the results I’m after without putting it to use, I’ll do that.

Clint L No. I applied a coat of Spray Wax by Adam’s. Next time, I’ll do a full decon on this car and apply a more robust sealant or coating.

da schpisonki For the first tire, I tried my new stiff bristle brush but switched back to my trusty scrub brush. I use it for tires and carpets.
What color temp are the tubes that you have in your garage? Are they leds or fluorescent?

Not if you rinse it in warm water. If you are getting lots of leafs and little twigs/sticks in there, I can see it becoming a pain. I don't really face those challenges after a pre-wash foam treatment.

MRB1 MRB1 Thanks. The hose is a Retracta by Macnaught and the nozzle is just a regular garden hose nozzle by Yardworks. They aren’t fancy but they get the job done.

Clean Wagen I believe it is a 2018. Only 7500 km on the clock. Apart from some very minor rick nicks, it is pristine.

So, that’s a new stuff bristle brush I picked up recently at Carzilla. It’s really handy.

Can you put the wool wash mit in washing machine or do you hand wash it?
I don't machine wash that mitt. I prefer to wash it by hand in my sink using a quality microfiber-safe detergent then I fluff it with my hand and hang to dry. It has been in my arsenal for 5+ years and I just love it.

The water hits the floor and flows under the tiles towards the door. There's a gap between where the floor ends and the driveway begins. That's where the water goes. Some of it evaporates first.
What speed does the blow dryer got? Or what speed is necessary?
That blow dryer is powerful. If you lose hold of the nozzle, it can be a major problem! I don't think there's a more powerful car dryer on the market and ti works like a dream. Just don't let go!

I do though have a detailing question, just got a new car with painted black wheels( Swore I would never ever),but here I am.anyway I was super cautious on the first wash and after I’d finished , yep light hazing. I guess I’m asking a repetitive question but how do I keep these things new looking.
