@@double_ssb he got janked out to rage, making his jab lock have slightly more knockback and resetting tweek to neutral. It should have gone to game 5 at least
I mean, he took Wizzy to game 5 and all the games against Tweek where last stock last hit. Meme just showed that he is capable of keeping up with top 22-10 level players.
Playing Yoshi you need to take so much under consideration. How much you drift as you throw out an attack, how much you drift before throwing out an attack. Yoshi is not an easy character to master. Hes easy to play in the combo sense but not in the actual mindgame part. Meme is a beast on Yoshi he plays Yoshi in such an aggressive yet evasive way. He really brings out the slippery lizard aspect Yoshi has. He abuses Yoshers strengths so well
Yeah hes significantly better that Suarez. Meme is by far the best yoshi Ive seen. Dude got robbed against tweek, played Wizzy to game 5, and beat Samsora in a money match
I notice the three Yoshi pros (meme, Suarez, and Myles) all have different strengths. Suarez it's the egg toss precision and offstage Fair setups, Myles it's the up air ladders and drag down back air conversions, and meme it's the Neutral and defense. Honestly as a Yoshi main, I think I'm lucky in that I don't have to watch one player all the time. When I was a Pikachu Main, I got tired of only watching ESAM all the time. When ShinyMark came around things got really interesting.
@@gommu224 Yeah he lost to Charliedaking in losers unfortunately :( You can go to smash.gg to check out the results since they don't really upload every match on youtube
igual hace poco me di cuenta de este gran jugador, es muy entretenido verlo jugar, ojala su animo no decaiga y siga saliendo a competir, que nos siga dando estos espectáculos tan increíbles!
Not gonna spoil the match but Dark Wizzy really needs to mixup his baiting game. What I'm refering to is his fishing for upsmash. He needs to do more back air spacing on shield and run-up grabs to punish opponents staying in shield since they are scared of approaching on an upsmash punish.
@@double_ssb Great argument! But seriously this was simply an observation of the match. I watched this a day ago, so I don't really remember if he ever got punished for fishing for it; however, I'd feel like his opponents would approach him more often if he mixed it up with some run up grabs or run up empty hops or spaced aerials on shield which would make his fishing game more effective. As of now, top players rarely seem to fall for it since he makes it completely obvious. You can hear it from the commentators when they notice it immediately. His opponents notice just as quickly, and end up punishing him more often then not.
@@ewngzedward6182 I can't speak for the other guy, but my impression is that most people are aware that conversions are difficult at high level. They were definitely playing the spacies game toward the third set, but on a number of occasions Yoshi's Bair transforms the gambit into his own combo. As a Yoshi main myself, you want to be playing that way: both as a baiting tool and as a method that opens more options since his forward pressure isn't as pronounced as most top tier characters. From what I can tell, Ultimate encourages more Yoshi's to play around in the air since his Uair is so versitile. Unfortunately its not the best habit to have developed since Yoshi is probably about 20% more air happy than other characters. I spotted at least 5 occasions where Meme was punished for hoping around so much, not being able to complete an assualt. (starting frames take forever to wind up) He should spend more time hugging the floor and sharking opportunities to play the aerial game from under ledges. Most of Yoshi's moves have a ton of end lag, but if he can catch players in his undertow, Yoshi's tilts are deceptively good at protecting his AOI so as to convert into offensive pressure. As we've seen, a lot of confirms by Meme were achieved through rushdown into jablock.
@@hightiersmash4578 Yeah that's a good one since it deals with one of Yoshi's most consistent kill confirms. I think giving his F-tilt, Up-tilt, Down-tilt, down smash and Bair a bit more range and disjoints would do a lot to buff the character. So basically all his tail attacks except up air, which is already pretty huge imo.
@@colinhay1666 the only problem with that is u would end up with basically a sword character with absolutely bonkers combos and air speed. I do think that maybe dtilt could get a range buff so yoshi has a truly safe poke move. Back air feels fine to me, but would definitely be nice haha.
The grab itself is still good to catch people sitting in shield (and pivot grab is amazing at catching aggressive approaches). However, the roll itself is identical framewise to plenty of other characters - Belmont, Snake, Peach/Daisy, Falcon, Ike - the issue is more of how much distance the roll covers. Don't discount these two options just because they're "bad", though. They still have merits to them
@@Eltrotraw Thanks for the info I didn't know that. I am a Yoshi main and I've been focusing on eliminating bad habits. @@colinhay1666 down+b is a great punish off of parry (alongside dsmash and ftilt). As long as it's fresh, it KOs at the same percents as usmash.
