I work at a large hospital in my area, we are receiving nothing. Our PCTs don’t even get masks because they’re reserved for the nurses.
I am a nurse working with COVID patients as well. There is no hazard paid, and same PPE's are to be expected to wear throughout shift.
I'm in the Healthcare field. I believe it's because it's a woman dominated industry and woman are more passive than men. In a man dominated field you will see Hazzard pay, and other increased pay benefits and worker protection. It won't change until the health industry speaks up and stands together.
After the first tower fell during 9/11.... they didn't tell firefighters to keep running into the second tower. This is what is happening to your front line healthcare workers right now.

My mom is an internal med nurse. Meaning all of her patients are over 60. She is being moved to the UW hospital because they are so overwhelmed with patients. We live in Seattle where Covid is hitting very hard. I’m terrified because she doesn’t have PPE that she needs. Please pray or spend some time thinking about people in the health care field. They are doing everything they can and are working overtime, quadruple the stress. They need strength. Please stay home and be germ free.

I’m still studying to get into med school I wish I could do more than just study and watch hospitals struggling for supplies but I’ll eventually become a doctor in the future and be in the same position to be of any help as I can
please stay home instead of going to church, cruises, gatherings, parties like spring break in florida because when you don't, you are putting the lives of these healthcare workers in danger as they are trying to save your and your friends and family.

Once a week grocery shopping, the rest of the time I stay put at home. I will continue to do so until I am confident the pandemic is over and it is safe again.

That’s the sort of scarcity these ER and ICU healthcare workers are up against right now.

It heartbreaking for everyone affected. These doctors , nurses and other staff are really risking their lives. My mom is a nurse and she recently went on disability for severe osteoporosis and it was just before this whole outbreak got bad in Canada. I'm glad she is off work now. She works with seniors usually and many of them are very sick right now.
My heart aches for their families and and families of the ones working.

We're the largest country in the world that's committed to honest testing of it's people. There's no reason to believe China's exceptionally low numbers are anything but lies. They're magnitudes better than even Italy's response with 4% the population of china. And India? Not even testing. They have a billion people.

Less infected, less people in the hospitals. THE SAME. It's flu season now, some patient are just stress because of the event. Even if your a negative you'll become positive once you go to the hospital because they don't categorized the mild, severe, serious symptoms. No social distancing and the patients don't wear mask and full body personal protection gear. They're infecting each other. So sad for the Doctors and Nurses, they don't have enough PPE.

You clearly does not understand that at 0:54 she was not talking about random people coughing in public right? She said PATIENTS, and she was 2 inches away from the face. Story after story, unbelievable that this is happening in the United States. This is what happens in a capitalist country with a privatized for-profit healthcare industry. Where the bonuses of CEOs and executives and shareholders are the priority and not the safety of our medical staff and patients. Our nurses and doctors deserve better than this. I understand running out of supplies a month in but we ran out before the pandemic even really started. If China can have enough body suits and enough masks for their staff, our nurses shouldn’t be wearing garbage bags in one of the wealthiest nations in the world.

My local rural hospital is short on PPE and they were asking for glove and mask donations, I had some but they refused saying they won't accept boxes that had been opened. A shame, but a local nursing home gladly took them.

Ie if you were stranded and knew nobody would be around for 7 days and you have water that only lasted 7 days you wouldn't drink it all in 1 day no matter how thirsty you were. You stick to your plan. The Governor of New York is sticking to to the plan based on the increases in need expected based of data, and the available resources.

Most serious illness that requires a ventilator typically only lasts for up to a week. But this virus often requires 21 days on a ventilator. That's a long time and chances of ever coming off a ventilator after that much time is quite low.
Doctors really shouldn't be put in the position to have to decide who lives and dies. So, no, I won't shut up because now is not the time to do so. I'm not telling you anything that isn't meant to be common knowledge.
In fact I got most of this information from a Governor's press briefings that happens to be an epicenter for Covid-19.

Regular masks won’t do anything except take away valuable resources that our medical work force needs. Keep your distance, wash your hands, and if you feel sick stay home.
