Great tips, all of them! I don't have experience yet in this field but can imagine the excitement one feels when client approaches them for job. As much as you want that job, you need to keep it cool and name the conditions and the price so you don't end up with the short end of the stick!

The truth is simple: no photographer like to say how much they charge. I have a fee for my portraits session. When anybody asks me how much I charge, I absolutely tell them. Of course when someone asks you how much you charge, this person knows all the things that make you charge that. They just want to get an idea of it. So they don't completely over charge or the opposite. And of course every photographer knows how much they charge. But, they will never never never tell. Always the sames excuses: well it will depend on so many things. And even when people say: ok, let's say you need to do this and that, how much would you charge? They will never tell.

And that’s why you need to come up with your own pricing that specific to your needs and lifestyle. The market will tell you whether that needs to be increased or decreased based on client responses!

@@PHOOD you are right. But, I will never understand why photographers are so afraid of telling how much they charge. It is always a mystery. If you ask any doctor how much they charge for an appointment, they will tell. If you ask lawyer or a dentist or a therapist they will tell their fees. But, a photographer? Never. It is like photographers are always worried with their competition.

@@wastedtalentusa I ask this myself. I come up with the answer. The main reason it is tricky to say is that there is client direct from ourselves and client come from referal or thrid party company. So first I have to understand what is the person asking come from. Is he a direct client or a middle man? This happen all the time. If I have a wedding couple directly contact me. I charge $2400 for 10 hours let's say. But if a wedding studio or a wedding venue, a make up artist whoever asked me how much I charge they have a potential client. Then I need think about the commission they want to take from this deal. Some might want 10% some might want 20% or even 30%. So then my price is no longer $2400. It will become $2000 or $1800 or $1500. You get what I am saying? It is very tricky. So first you need to know who is asking. If it is direct client, usually I have no issue to tell them the price straight(after knowing the detail) But if it is a marketing company or a referal or you simply freelance for another company. Then the price get tricky.

Thank you for sharing these tips. Very useful info in your videos. May I advice you to limit those sound effects highlighting the texts. There is an echo in your room, so the sound is not perfect and it is distracting. If listening with headphones they are like nails in the brain.
Looking forward to more useful and expert videos from you 😊

Behind the scenes are my favourite videos; gear used and building light on concrete scene, especially for restaurant photography; little tips on food arrangement like hidden potato base or oil for brushing, etc.
