- I decided to try to come up something cool with that infamous fart music, that can the original pattern file be turned into something that sounds good. What I did with this was essentially to use only two tracks, the opening note and then only one track from total of six. Only two instruments used for this with extremely lowered weird pitch, nothing else, and tempo slowed down to 20 bpm from original 40bpm.
This actually makes the basement theme scary wth
It just funny that how easily some simple changes can transform the experience. Maybe the secret is the fact that I ain't professional composer or anything, so I come up with something out of the box and general rules. And the approach being very minimalistic in terms of the amount of instruments used, but the instruments themselves make those complex sounds by accident.
@@doze_d which makes sense, shame that they changed the music for the DC version though
@@TeaLadyHanner This is one of those things where you can't say that was it happy accident or not haha. It actually has some cool stuff, but it mostly sounds like something from Castlevania games or something like that, way too classical and castle-like moods.
And I have to be picky about the correct fact that the new OST was in the Dual Shock edition, not in the first Director's Cut edition :elza:
@@doze_d indeed it was dual shock director's cut
Great job Doze_D! You turned a crappy music track from a scary area, into something very spine-chilling!
No clown farting sounds = dislike :-P
JK, sounds creepy AF!
Maybe I could have used extremely low key tuba for the opening note :leonkekedy1:
Like there's something in the distance making noise and it's echoing through a building's ventilation to reach you. You have no idea what is making the sound but with what you've already seen chances are it's not friendly, and it's probably really ugly and mean.
Dude this is awesome. Deserves more recognition. How'd you build this?
Good job bro
I listen to it at 1.25 speed, it sounds too fast but it sounds rather ominous and unsettling, might work at 1.05 or 1.15 of speed
