With some intention, there will be some devastating baiting strategy played by using the Illusionist and Beast Master to pull the opposition around the field into tough blocks
The trickster trait only moves you two squares if your opponent rolls both down or skull. On any other roll it can move you the equivalent of FOUR squares.
Interesting point to remember! If there is a Norse Team vs Gnomes and a Norse Player gets wrestled to the Prone position, they could be up and ready in the start with a Beer Boar present?
I do fear for Gnome teams. Once they get loads of Dodge upgrades they'll be semi-resilient. But, in almost all 'unupgraded vs unupgraded' matches, they'll get casualtied even faster than halflings (even given Guard). To stay afloat financially in leagues, Apothecary and maybe some extra Fan Factor might be essential from the start. Lovely original team, though, and I've ordered mine.
The tricker moves 5 squares and trickster will never be cloae to the scorer that the 7M dodging fox is. Trickster requires block from an opposition player, attacking from an IDEAL spot, with the IDEAL square being open, then getting an IDEAL opposition roll (which the opposition player will probably have choice of 2 dice not nice to you). If you possibly end up in end zone you would most likely be surfed or turfed. Gnomes will be losing most games, but if you rely on the illusionist over the fox for a ball carrier, you will lose them all.
Surly the illusionist should be using the skill like dump off, it’s not a primary plan, but a mitigation to failing, having a fox around to take a hand off later in the drive from your illusionist might do… maybe less bad? Gnomes are gonna get pretty rolled up it seems, less evasive stunties just feels like they will get locked down and cruuuushed
The Illusionists aren't as good at scoring as the Foxes, but they're definitely better as ball carriers as soon as they get dodge. The fox's inability to hand off the ball means you're stuck with a static, "protect the ball carrier with a cage" playstyle just like the Dwarves, which in turns means the MA7 of the foxes is useless until you're in scoring range. On the other hand, the PA 3+ of Illusionists and passing skills access opens up a lot of options to protect the ball beyond just "not getting hit", and lets you move the ball to a fox you positioned in a previous turn whenever you need a burst of speed. Trickster isn't there to get you 3 squares closer to the end zone, it's there to be a super-sidestep that also messes with the opponent's assists, especially against Frenzy players.
According to the closed captions I've just been watching Bennett from the Bono podcast. This was an unexpected turn
I got the gnome team and Spike! and preordered.

I've gotta admit I've come around on Gnomes. They have a lot of team synergy that isn't obvious at first glance.
Seriously thought you were about to rickroll us at 6.04 😂

Trickster with dump off, I can see where the skills can mesh.
what did you change from version 1?
Illusionist edited himself out of it 🤷🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Hey looking for advice on gnome star players. I want to just take deeproot, but for the price I could have Rodney Puggy & Akhorn lolol

With the trickster thing, do you mean safe pair of hands?
Thank u for the video
I think they FAQ'd Guard so it doesn't provide assistance for fouls.
Did you spot the new Star playing riding a stag😮😊...

Call me an animositist but I don't need a gnome team guide. I need a guide on how to pound these lawn ornaments into the ground!

BALL SACKING BLITZER EH
Realistically, how many times is both-down going to be selected? Maybe once a game?
I think wrestle is being a bit overhyped.
