If you've never heard the Staples Singers, "I'll Take You There" is iconic, and "Let's Do It Again." You might like Bachman Turner Overdrive "Takin' Care of Business" and "You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet." Check out some Cream "White Room," "Tales of Brave Ulysses," "I Feel Free," "I'm So Glad." REO was a automobile company (from early 1900's to mid 1970's, founded by Ransom E. Olds (note his initials). One of their model lines, around the 1930's, was the Speedwagon. Hope that helps.

I am finally catching up on your reactions due to not feeling too well from a year ago. I am back to normal now. REO Speedwagon is an iconic group from my youth i had the opportunity to bring my son to see them when they came back to our area a couple years ago. He just loved seeing them . The last time they were in our area was way back when they first started out with the group Canned Heat. My brother who was 2 years older than me got to see them then and now my son had the honor of seeing them first hand. Great music from a great group also a great reaction. PEACE OUT.

REO played at one of my high school dances back in 1971. My brother was in the AV club and did the lighting for them. They were just big enough to play regional (we lived in South Central Wisconsin). 4 years later they played an actual concert at my University.

I am finally catching up on your reactions due to not feeling too well from a year ago. I am back to normal now. REO Speedwagon is an iconic group from my youth i had the opportunity to bring my son to see them when they came back to our area a couple years ago. He just loved seeing them . The last time they were in our area was way back when they first started out with the group Canned Heat. My brother who was 2 years older than me got to see them then and now my son had the honor of seeing them first hand. Great music from a great group also a great reaction. PEACE OUT.

REO played at one of my high school dances back in 1971. My brother was in the AV club and did the lighting for them. They were just big enough to play regional (we lived in South Central Wisconsin). 4 years later they played an actual concert at my University.
REO are the initials of Ransom Eli Olds, who would later get bought up by GM with the Oldsmobile brand. The speedwagon was the first incarnation of the pickup truck, also used as fire trucks. Started in 1915. Peace & Love!

The video clearly showed you the Journey of this one man going through his life and pointing out that there was this one special person that provided him with the Heart and Soul that he needed to SURVIVE.. That's why there was a candle in the window on a cold Winter's night cuz that's what he felt in his soul he was in the middle of a cold winter all alone..And then he saw the candle In The Window & Realized that somebody truly cared for him 100%. REO Speedwagon are impossible to hate as far as I’m concerned. They’re just such a catchy, era-appropriate band.
Two different music videos exist for the song. Both videos have been shown at various times on VH1 Classic (now known as MTV Classic).
Version 1: Studio (videotape) Edit
The videotaped version was produced by MTV for a special on REO Speedwagon and features the band in the studio. It begins with Kevin Cronin playing the piano, attempting to find the key in which he can best sing the song (starting off in G major, he later decides he can sing it better in A). After Cronin exchanges some laughs with his bandmates, the original track of the song plays, with the band members miming their respective parts. It concludes with Cronin uttering the line, "That warmed the cockles of my cockles!"
Version 2: Film Edit
The second more famous version, directed by John Jopson, was considered a "more professional one" and makes various references to the life-cycle and shows the band singing the song.
