  • Installing these lift a brand 3" lift cups in the rear of my grand marquis.
I had already purchased and installed them but there was more squeaking in the rear than I was comfortable with. I also took out the axle and had it rebuilt using a P71 Limited Slip Differential, 373 gears, and, police axles. I like that it's lifted and retains the factory smooth ride, and with the air lift 1000 bags, I can adjust stiffness, a little bit of ride height, and pump some more air in them if I decide to tow something. As a safety concern, I decided to weld the cups to the axle, so they didn't fall out while air borne. I also added a 1" tall piece of 2"od 1.75"id pipe to keep the springs in place on top of the spacer. I highly recommend running the rubber grommet/bushing.
    Hope this helps someone.

I put them on the top of my coils on my ‘95 mgm because it fit tighter, and it stays with the body. I didn’t want it taking all the movement and impact that the axle has on bumpy roads. Haven’t had any issues yet and I’ve been airborne and on very rough trails going fast.

Plz any body watching this video plz don’t be stupid an weld or tac weld shit you’ll have a major issue when time to take it off when you don’t want it on which will cause holes in your axel when you tap the cups off with a hammer once they get put on a springs sits on top of them an yoy mount everything back up an get your shocks bolted back up all that pressure will hold those cups tight in place never weld anything on your axels

      Excellent advice as a disclaimer.
However every axle has something welded to it in order for it to be bolted on.
Personally this Was an off road project and I had planned on being airborne and didn't want them falling out and I had heard of them falling out on pavement princesses over speed bumps so I just wanted to be sure.

Coil spring compressor? That is a tool that helps in spring installation.
Coil spring spacers are what I installed on the axle to lift the car

Can you use square tubing instead of piece of pipe

I mean I guess you could, but I think it old be more time consuming and expensive to build your own. Their cheap on ebay and Amazon

I'm not sure if the bags will work with this or not, but probably not though.
If you go with these you will need to switch to coil springs.
Some people switch to springs out of an explorer or excursion I think? But that would be too stiff a ride in my opinion.

@@DeeMoneyG you got rid of the factory air suspension?
      What springs did you get?
There are several cups available I would make sure whatever size you get is made of steel so you can get them welded to the axle so they don't fall out
