  • Dieppe, France. This full issue travelogue is celebrating the new ferry route from Dover to Dieppe.
Various shots on board the ferry heading away from Dover. Arrival in Dieppe. Cars drive off the ferry. View from a car driving through Dieppe. Various shots of Dieppe market and touring circus being set up. Nice shots of the market traders and customers. Circus tents being erected. Shot of the lorries of the "Pinder" circus followed by top shot of the covered market stalls.
C/Us of large bowls of sweets. Young girl serves a woman. More shots of the "quaint kerbside market". C/Us of little chicks. Moving shot showing shoppers.
Circus now taking shape. Big top is up. Narrator seems to suggest that the market goers will go to the circus after they have done their shopping. Few shots of caged animals - a bear, a chimp and some tigers. Live animals for sale in the market. Kangaroos and polar bears of the circus are fed.
Stall holders pack up. Car journey through Dieppe. We see some of the sights of the town and nearby St. Valery (sp?). Exterior and interior of the modern church. Another church is seen - name of location not found in paperwork. Sounds like Alainville de Bellefosse (?!). The church is built into the folds of an old oak tree. Child enters a little shrine inside the hollow tree and places flowers in a vase. Various shots of the church and visitor to the chapel.
A glamorous couple drive along the Normandy coastline, getting out of their car to admire the view. Various shots of people on the beach including an artist who paints a picture and men collecting flints - they are carried off the beach by mules and horses. Looks like a pretty heavy load for such old horses. Men carry baskets on their heads and flints are lifted to top of cliffs by cranes.
    New Tanquerville Bridge at sunset.
