The Mr. Rogers/Bob Ross/Steve Irwin of metal.
We must preserve this man.
Awesome comparisons! Lol
Devin’s work helped me save my own life. I’ve seen other musician’s work do the same for others.
Buy a T-shirt, or a ticket, or a record.
Support the folks that you want to see stick around. You’ll miss them when they’re gone.
Lightwork is so good.
Time to grab my black coffee only the finest bean for this vid! 🛸 Love Devin
Indeed...
Devin Townsend is a legendary singer-songwriter.
Him and Patton are the two hard working metal musicians that dip their heads into different genres and make it sound amazing.
Wonderful interview!
Dumb question but have him and Patton ever worked together? If not they should make that happen.
Necrotic Nick- Dude, awesome interview! Devy is legit one of my favorite humans on the planet and this pretty much reenforces I already love about the man and his music. Killer stuff, bro!
You guys aren't so bad yourselves, really great work in spotlighting bands I have either never heard of or haven't gotten around to listening.
Fantastic interview good sir. Mr. Townsend never fails to come off as such a normal likeable dude.
What a gentleman he is, damn i like him. He gives me hope in this society, awesome interview buddy really!
Fantastic interview. I always appreciate when an interviewer knows their shit when it comes to the interviewee. I loved The Puzzle and Lightwork, so I'm excited to see where life takes Dev next.
Devin Townsend, the fucking legend. One of my top 5 vocalists of all time. I take lots of inspiration with his songwriting and creativity. One of your best vids to date, so interesting to hear his point of view on things. One thing is sure about Devin Townsend and his Discog……. It is NEVER Boring or disingenuous. I’ll give this new album a listen.
I love Devin, probably one of the most talented musicians irrelevant of genre and he's such an amazing person too! There's absolutely nothing fake about him - he writes music from the heart because he wants to and on his terms. We're all along for the ride, and what a ride it is!
I can't wait to listen to Lightwork today, and Empath might be one of my favourite albums full stop (along with many of his others...). There's a reason my son has Devin as his middle name. Big love to you Devin! You have been a guiding voice in the dark for most of my life, but especially these past two years, which have honestly been horrendous. Thank you!
Love the metal meltdown. Devin is a intelligent and beautiful human being. His music is a bright light in a dark world.
Cool interview with Devin Townsend. Devy is just such a humble, talented, and creative musician. I'm looking forward to checking out Lightwork tomorrow.
Incredible interview, Robert. Candid and grounded.
The words to describe how amazing this interaction is would fail. So I'll just say thank you for capturing and sharing these moments with us. 👍
amazing interview robert one of my favorite canadian metal artists of all time been a huge fan of devin townsend and strapping young lad since 2005
Devin and Anneke van Giersbergen need to work together as much as possible in the future. They compliment each other so well
Good interview brother , great conversation 👍
Man what an awesome interview. Very cool insight into who I see as a true musical savant! Great job Robert. Thank you for this
I'm so jealous haha! Great interview! Dev is sort of a personal hero of mine.
Wow, Robert; you're moving up, bud! Interviewing the legend Hevy Devy!
Great interview. Cheers from down under
Great interview, so cool you got to do this. I’m really looking forward to Lightwork, think we all need some optimism right now 🤘
Legend!
Excellent interview. Y'all both have words of wisdom. Thank you.

Yay!
Robert ,excellent interview my man.

No fucking way!! You deserved it and I'm very proud with your progression as a UA-camr. Will be seeing him in Wolverhampton for the first time.
Great interview. Inspirational.
Wtf? How did I miss this? I am subscribed and everything.
Great interview!
Can't wait to see the Thralls of Metal's review of "Lightwork" this Friday!
Pretty Good Interview
Awesome
Devin never loses followers because he always manages to COMPOSE AWESOME SHIT no matter what
I dont listen to tv, i dont have facebook or any social medias. So i feel disengaged about what is going on in the world right now and damn i love it. If it wasnt for my people telling me stuff or keeping me in check about all this crap i would feel like an alien on earth haha.
I want to do this so bad but I’m a coward
@@tcjv1991 coward? hows that?
Wow
Devin Townsend is the only man that can wear a skullet.
Yet he looks so much better, without one!
So stoked :D
Really looking forward to this one.
yo me too
@@themetalmeltdownofficial the guy is a musical chameleon
@@themetalmeltdownofficial Great interview Robert. Devin is an incredible human being. So interesting to hear how his mind works & the process on how he makes his albums. Really fascinating. He's a great Canadian. You should be very proud of him. Looking forward to your review of "Lightwork".
Hell Yeah.
Thank you for this great interview! But the strapping question was unnecessary.
28:36 well spoken
The bald man speaks the truth, jalapeño poppers are good.
So let it be written, so let it be done.
I think a new Strapping album in 2023 would probably suck balls. The last one “The New Black”, which I totally love and still completely awesome, bordered on self parody. You can tell that he was really getting past it on that one. It’s almost a comedy metal album… he was poking fun at the whole thing, while “Alien” before it, was dead fucking serious and almost frightening… and the SYL album before that is so freaking agro that it’s almost hard to listen to.
I love everything he’s done and I am glad he’s being true to himself. Lightwork is fantastic.
Wow another great interview! God do I want him to work with Michael Akerfalt and/or Steven Wilson so badly!🤗🤯😵
That'd be a pretty wild threesome for sure
Detox !
Well Damn Done Dude, and I'm gonna not....
Yeah.
Enjoy your Day :)
Was trying not to jump in...
