Amazing. This is exactly the guide I needed. I would've hated pulling the entire bumper off like 99% of the videos I've seen say to do. Much appreciated for the vodeo
Holy crap! I just gotta say thank you. Like others have mentioned, every other tutorial on how to remove the valance required removing the whole front bumper. This process literally took 5 minutes. Thank you!
This was very helpful, appreciate the vid…for those also trying this. I was able to take off a majority of the clips from the top side. TRD pro skid plate makes it a little tight.
Just watched your video and pulled my valance off with no problem. I had it dipped in carbon fiber look. Install was a breeze. Thanks for the video, good job. I’m 69 so if I can do it anyone can.
Thanks for the help! I was about to take my whole bumper off until I saw your vid! I was able to get it done! Although I have to admit you made it look way easier then it was for me! lol Took me about a half hour The top corner clips were a bit tough to reach for me. All in all way better then removing the bumper!
You make it look 10x easier than it was for me. About 2 hours later and two cut up hands and wrists, I did finally manage to get the old one off and a new black one on from 4Runner Lifestyle. Because it is an aftermarket part, the tabs on the one from 4Runner Lifestyle require some bending and cursing to get them to line up with the slots in the bumper, but I finally got it on there, with no clips left over. Anyone doing this should be comfortable working on clips that you can only feel. You cannot see a number of them, especially the ones at the bottom and the two at the outer ends. You just have to do it by feel. I also had to use a screwdriver to press the tab on each one to get almost all of them out and to get several back in. It would be very hard to do with just fingers.
Great video - I just did my the front valance on my 22' TRD ORP. A couple of clips required super strong thumbs to push them down! Now on to the rear --- unfortunately I do not believe there is a hack for them.
Appreciate this video bro! This is definifely more difficult if you have sausage fingers and large forearms but I was still able to manage nonetheless.
If you pop the hood, and remove the radiator cover, you can access 8 (6 tops/2 middle) of the clips even easier. Then you only have to do the 4 bottom clips, and the last top clip on the passenger side.
Thanks for uploading this video, but I have to say everyone is built differently, its 10x harder than this for me. I don't have a big hand and pretty flexible btw.
This helps a lot, thanks! I plasti-dipped mine already, but thinking I want to spray paint it now after watching this. Did you also remove the back one?
Is this procedure doable on a 2021 off road premium? I got 11 clips off, could not feel the one located on the driver side near the fog light. Valance was still secured on the top corners somewhere on both sides.

Best valance video! Can’t thank you enough.

Thank you for making a quick and to the point video. Cheers!
Thank you for posting this!! Saved me a lot of time by not having to remove the entire bumper to replace my valence! Good stuff!
Exactly what I needed to watch, perfect video guide, thank you
You are the MAN! My goodness every video is how to modify the SR5 and I have the ORP.
Just watched your video and pulled my valance off with no problem. I had it dipped in carbon fiber look. Install was a breeze. Thanks for the video, good job. I’m 69 so if I can do it anyone can.
Best guide for valance removal on UA-cam.

Dude! This is what I’m talking about! UA-cam jackpot when I wasn’t looking. Thank you.
glad it helped!

Silver looks way better than black
Watched like 5 of these vids you are the best one. Thanks for going through each damn clip.
Thanks man. That was very helpful and I've watched a few videos. Very well done.
Surprised this is the only vid showing how to do this. Props to you! About to try this in a few minutes lol
and 2 years later Marksum's old valance is held on by those two clips he couldn't get off
Thanks! This is exactly the guide I needed.
This needs more likes. Great overview.
Very helpful. Appreciate you making this video guide 👍
Thanks. I’m in my driveway 9pm the night before a day trip. Doing last minute “mods”
Great Video. You make it look so eazy cheezy!
Thank you This is exactly the guide I needed

Great video... now out I go to give this a try. Thanks for the "how-to"!!! 😉👍
glad it helped.
Appreciate this video bro! This is definifely more difficult if you have sausage fingers and large forearms but I was still able to manage nonetheless.
Thanks man. Worked great for me
Badass. Exactly what I was wondering
Very helpful video, thank you!

Very nice and helpful thanks!
Great job, well done!
I made a few scuffs on my bumper just by taking it off to remove the valance… doing this instead! Thanks
Thank you so much! very helpful
Super helpful. Thank you.
i was able to do this today! thanks I really did not want to take the rear bumper off
wait you did the rear bumper without removing the whole bumper? I know you can do the front but the rear?
no you do have to take the rear off I think I mistyped... I ended up plastidipping mine because It was cheaper and easier@@MrGTravels
Awesome vid, thanx man! 👍
Real nice job !
Thanks for uploading this video, but I have to say everyone is built differently, its 10x harder than this for me. I don't have a big hand and pretty flexible btw.
saved me so much time.
Good stuff bro.
How about the rear bumper valance. Figured out the cheat code for that one?
Thank you! Worked like a charm. And I have meat paws for hands. If I can do it, anyone can.
Nice I wanna see the final outcome!!!!
Great video. 👍
Amazing video. we have the Front and Rear lower Valance for 4Runner, would you like to test it?
Perfect.Thanks!
Did you do the back one too?
Good vid. Very helpful and descriptive. Did you do the rear?
I believe you can do the rear by dropping the spare tire. I've seen a video of it done but can't seem to find it again.
Does anyone know if this method works with the factory skid plate installed?
Can you upload a picture of the valance after it was wrapped !
Thank you a bunch
Great video! Man you made it look so easy! Question could send me the link the the black front grill? Thank you.
TacoVinyl on Instagram
Do you happen to know the touch up paint code for that silver piece on the bumper? Thanks.
What?
This helps a lot, thanks! I plasti-dipped mine already, but thinking I want to spray paint it now after watching this. Did you also remove the back one?
I did not. I left it silver.
Did you ever do your rear one? Curious if it is a simple as the front looks. I definitely want rid of the silver!
Can black OEM replacement valances be purchased (front and rear), rather than dip or wrap?
Yes, I'm having mine installed by Toyota as I write this
What about the back piece?
Hi. Where did you get the bug deflector and how is it working out. Thanks
On amazon they are called Auto Ventshade 25053 Bugflector. I mainly have it to keep rocks from chipping the front of the hood.
Thanks for the video. Where did you buy the grill?
Tacovinyl
do they sell that black cover for 4 runner sr5 ? and does it just snap on or so I have to remove the grill?
which black cover? if you are talking about the black middle area you then any model would fit. TacoVinyl has them
Is this procedure doable on a 2021 off road premium? I got 11 clips off, could not feel the one located on the driver side near the fog light. Valance was still secured on the top corners somewhere on both sides.
I'll also note that mine has KDSS if that makes a difference.
@@HPG3035 it should be exactly the same as my 2020. You might just have to feel around a bit more
Nice...... thanks
For the blank trd grille did you cut the bottom to fit around the sensor or was it just like that?
I cut it with a dremel to fit the TSS. You wont notice it if you measure how much to cut off.
I cut mine with a razor blade, the plastic is soft enough, and the cut was super smooth.
Where did you purchase the blank trd grill?
tacovinyl
What did you wrap it with specifically and how much did it cost to have done?
@@armourbl just regular 3m gloss black vinyl wrap. Cost me $250 for valance and grille
Perfect
Great video, but the “easy to remove” valance pop clips are nearly impossible for me to remove. Any tips?
what problem are you having with them?
I had a hard time too with some of the clips, but I used a plastic pry tool to help push some of the tabs down.
Can you do the same for the rear bumper
rear bumper has to be removed for the rear valance, unfortunately.
What did you do about the rear bumper valance??
nothing yet but will wrap it soon
Can you do this for the rear valance?
For the rear you have to remove the bumper.
Can we do it on the rear bumper too?
for the rear no. You have to remove bumper for that, but it is a lot easier.
Can you do the rear like this?
you cannot
Did you paint it and put it back?
wrapped
There are 7 on the top, 2 in the middle on the sides, and 4 on the bottom: Total of 13
Did that top black grill interfere with the TSS?
i cut out a slot under that you cant see you fit the TSS
The TSS radar sensor is located more in the center of the TSS panel. It does not fill the panel edge to edge.
I just did this, and it was a son of a B&%ch ....Doing the back bumper was easier even though it was more involved
Drive it over a river crossing and you’ll move that no problem!
