252 definitely exceeds $50 but overall great video!
That shazam book is gonna get really hard to find with the movie coming up
I agree! There is a lot of hype about that movie right now. The prices are for sure going to go up...
Great video! So much great information.keep up the great work!
Thanks so much! Glad you found the info helpful! Thanks for watching! I will keep at it. Stay tuned for more lol Cheers!
This is pretty cool though I struggle to figure out why Deathmate Red would be a key issue? Deathmate Black at least sort of has the first appearance of Gen13. X-Force and its 5 million copies explains right away why it's not a key issue.
Yup I guess you’re right. Thanks for the info
Kull 1 is NOT the first appearance of the character. He was featured in Creatures on the Loose previously.
Good to know! Thanks for that bit of info
Random question: do you think Batman Damned #1 is worth picking up for around $100 (or do you see it dropping in value once the hype dies down)?
Honestly, if you can wait, I would suggest you do that. There is way too much hype around that book right now and if you give it the right amount of time you should be able to get it for a much better price. I don’t have it, and the only way I will ever get it is if it’s price significantly falls. Cheers!
Geekery with Dante D. Awesome! Thanks, man! Also love the vids! Keep ‘em coming!
I had a letter printed in X-MEN #201!
That’s awesome! What’s your name? I’ll look out for it!
Great books! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much! Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for watching
Great video I got most these key issues
Thanks, glad you liked the video! That’s amazing that you have most of these! You have great taste my friend! Cheers!
I’m trying to get a superhero comic and this really helps, thanks
Glad you found this video helpful. I appreciate the positive feedback. Happy collecting! Cheers!
Your wrong Amazing spider-man 134 is a very expensive comic ranging around £200 / $258.68
Yeah, this is an old video.. I know a lot of these books have gone up in price. Thanks for watching!
Do you collect almost only marvel and DC?
Smart choices. Here lately any of the 70's, 80's & 90's book's. I've been getting every time I can. The new book's are just garbage. However the new metallic blue supergirl cover look's pretty cool just for the cover art. Think I 'll pick it up next tme.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed the picks! Yeah, I don’t collect new books anymore. I’ve slowed down with my collecting overall, but when I do pick up back issues, they are always from the 70s, 80s or 90s. Best eras ever for comics. You have great taste my friend!
I have the spiderman 252 and i see a lot of people online selling copies for $100+ ... even some for $1600.... can someone please tell me why the value of this issue varies? I have a copy of this issue in extremely mint condition and im just wondering if its worth more than $50.... thanks to anyone who can help.
Hi there! Thanks for checking out the video. Great question. There can be a variety of reasons why the prices vary so much. My guess is it’s people trying to make a quick buck on the books because of the Venom movie. When I got the book, it was pretty cheap, but that was a while ago! I definitely think at this point you could probably get 50 for it... try to put it up for bid and see what happens if you want to get sell it. I don’t think it is quite worth 1600 though even if it is graded and mint. Hope this helps!
One of my favorite books. Ungraded in NM they go around the $75 range. $50 would be a bargain for that issue. A graded CGC 9.8 is consistently selling for about $600. This will always continue to be a solid book to have in your collection.
Hairmetal80 oh wow thank you, i just got one in mint condition... it has little to no waring on it. I hope its anywhere near that value.
Ayy my name is Dante too. Thx for the comics. Imma try to buy them.
It’s an awesome name eh!? Lol glad you found the video helpful! Good luck on your comic hunt!
Geekery with Dante D. Thx
Most of these r still in the 50 cent and dollar boxes. Maybe not the 15 cent spider man. But first bane, first bloodshot, first spawn issue, Spiderman number 1, x men 1, x men 4, 5, Shazam 1, sleepwaker1, pretty much all of those you mentioned will not go up. Their only worth 50 cents to a dollar. My comic book.store has every back issue from 60s up in the dollar bin. Archie comics and Walt Disney, Casper, stuff like that from 60s. No marvel or dc from 60s. But none of these r going up. Maybe except first spider man black costume.
Yeah, I would agree with you that actual value of them won’t rise much, but a lot of times they become artificially inflated based on the pop cultural consciousness of the time (I.e movie, tv show etc.) I laugh when I walk into comic book stores and see some of these books for outrageous prices. I’m glad your comic book store is reasonable with their pricing. Thanks for watching and commenting!
And the point isnt about their value, its the fact they are cheap keys that any collector would like to have in their collection
i have X-Force #2 (2nd app of Deadpool) Barcode version , it is rare?
Not necessarily.. the barcode just means it was originally purchased off the newsstand. It might not be as common, but I’m not entirely sure is someone would pay extra for the barcode. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Most of these comics are very over populated!!! They value will not go up if there are 5 million of the same copy bro. I can see ASM 252 going up and possibly XFactor 1... maybe
Yes agreed... the market is saturated with most of these... these books are mostly for people who want keys but don’t want to spend a lot.. I definitely would not recommend these books for the investor lol it’s funny though... some of these get artificially inflated at times... for example... x-force 2 ( 2nd Deadpool) used to be a bargain bin stinker... you will never be able to find that book in a bargain bin again even though there are so many of them floating around. Thanks for commenting!
Moon Girl #28 1st appearance of Omnipotentis!!!!
I’ve never read that one. I’ll have to check it out. Thanks so much for the suggestion. Thanks for watching!
Geekery with Dante D. MoonGirl #1 is rising quickly in price!! Slated for animated series. Strong cult following!! VERY Affordable Key issue
should do a part 2
I definitely will in the future! Great suggestion, thanks!
* First appearance of spawn = Malibu sun cover
Malibu sun #13
No hulk?
ItamaRart not many cheap key issues for hulk under 50. Only one off top of my head is #377. And maybe first app. of doc sampson...forgot the #, but most other hulk comics that are considered keys, and theres not that many considering how long hulk has been around, are above 50. You might find a hulk #340 for around 50 if you shop a little
Most books like x-force 1 & X-men 1 is not worth it.
Yeah not worth it, but they are fun reads lol
NICE CANADIAN VARIANTS in there
😊🇨🇦
X men 141 is not an affordable issue now so is ama 147 and ama 134
Yup, you’re right.. this is an old video lol
Wow 😮
What is a "key issue"?
Hi there! A key issue is an issue in which something special happens in a particular comic book series. Special events include first appearances, deaths of characters, classic covers, or a highly sought after story. Hope this helps!
@@Dante19883 Thank you!
Amazing Spider-Man #252 Affordable? hmmm? That book is $50 to almost $600 bucks
Hi there.. the threshold for affordable in this video was 100 dollars. At the time this video was made, ASM 252 was still available for purchase for under 100, and from the info you have given, that appears to still be the case depending on the grade of the copy. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Your long videos are great, so much work put into them but this short video was AMAZING!
Thanks! I’ll keep that mind! Glad you enjoyed it. I’m trying to shorten videos more as time goes on.. editing longer videos is a nightmare lol thanks for reaching out to let me know, I appreciate it!
While affordable, it seems like there is a loose definition of key issue.
Yes, I was shooting for under a hundred dollars. Thanks for commenting!
Such as.... such as.... such as...
you forgot first appearane of velintroquilist idk how to pronounce him XD
Ah yes! I actually just discovered that book and I’m trying to hunt it down. Another one that I found recently was the first appearance of Renee Montoya in Batman 475. Such a cool cover that features ventriloquist! Thanks for watching!
First appearence of el diablo is also good and also first appearance of cosmic ghost rider!
I clicked on this video cause it had 666 views
Ha ha! Thanks! Lol
