Facts about Seoul Mosque:
1. Seoul Central Mosque, also known as Seoul Grand Mosque, is the largest mosque in South Korea.
2. It is located in Itaewon, a popular neighborhood in central Seoul known for its multicultural atmosphere.
3. The mosque was completed in 1976 and serves as the headquarters of the Korean Muslim Federation.
4. The mosque was built to cater to the needs of the growing Muslim community in Seoul, which includes both expatriates and Korean converts.
5. The architectural style of the mosque is a blend of traditional Islamic design elements and modern Korean aesthetics. This unique fusion reflects the harmonious coexistence of Islam and Korean culture.
6. The prayer hall of the mosque can accommodate up to 2,000 worshippers. It features a meticulously designed mihrab (prayer niche) that points towards Mecca, as well as a minbar (pulpit) from where sermons are delivered.
