Rather than a sense of despair leading up to annihilation, there is a clear beauty that cannot be expressed through dialogue alone. Personally, I think it's a masterpiece among Kitano's films, and I want you to see it before you die.
I have a feeling I downloaded this movie and viewed it once over 10 years ago but I literally can't remember anything about the plot or characters if I did....
likely as the color of the fish is similar to the color of the car in which Murakawa kills himself within. Also the car used (Carina ED) is rarely if ever seen with that color so it is likely custom painted for the film. Good thinking, i never thought about the fish and the meanings within the movie.
