- Step by step guide on how to Replace the EGR Valve on a Peugeot 308 2015 model 1.6 diesel HDI. Engine code DV6C / DV6
Engine light was on and fault codes P0409, P12B4 & P0490 EGR fault codes stored in Engine ECU. Also C1391 & U1208 stores in ABS ECU.
Same procedure applies for the same engine in all the Citroen, Peugeot, Volvo, Fords & Mazda's etc.

👍 depends how seized it is , took me 2 hours but if it’s not siezed can be done in an hour, badly siezed and can soon take z3/4 hours!

On the Focus MK3 with this engine is there direct access to the EGR as the airbox isnt in the way and dont think you have to remove the scuttle panel

Great video. Very cleanly explained and filmed. I have a question. Is it possible to clean the valve instead od substitute it ? How difficoult is to unmount the electronic part of the valve for cleaning the metallic part in a cleaning liquid ? or it is sufficient to put the metallic part under cleaning liquid without dismounting the electronic part ?

It is possible to clean the valve but you will need to remove it completely
What lights on dash did the faulty egr bring up.

Do you have any tips for a severely stuck one? I tried from above levering, and also underneath, hitting the exposed tabs with a long bar and hammer, but they just broke off. It's not moving even a thou, and I'm having to put so much force on the left hand end it feels like the whole plastic piece will break. It's on a Volvo V50, so initial access is easier, but there is a metal plate forward of the scuttle that hinders access the the rear too get a pry bar in, and as it carries the VIN it's welded to the towers. Also one of the bolts sheared clean off halfway even with the gentlest application of force and loads of lubrication. The whole thing is a total POS 😞
😬 they can be abit tricky sometimes! Not the best for decent access on the Volvo , can u get a decent long prybar on it from underneath to give it a good whack?
@@diydaly I got underneath the car with a long socket extension and hit out, but bits of alloy just broke off. I think I might need to remove all of the rear pipework, cooler etc and remove it when it's off the engine. Also then I can drill out the sheared bolt.

Today I tried to pull the egr on a Volvo v60 with absolutely no chance... Blows, jerks, and the valve didn't budge an inch! Anyone have any advice on how to enable this? 🤯🤯🤯

Thanks for the vid. Just replaced mine, but now getting P0489 instead of P0490 and goes into limp mode with a parking brake fault message that i didn't have before;( Could it just be a matter of recalibrating the new EGR valve?
Sounds like wiring issue or faulty egr tbh mate
@@diydaly the new egr has been recalibrated and actuates ok apparently. new code has appeared- P0405 - control circuit low, suggesting maybe the DPF sensor is reading/stuck low? can't back probe it tho..
@@diydaly think i found the issue- a dodgy connector to the EGR (erratic EGR position sensor was a clue). and measuring voltage whilest the wiggling the wire at connector. any idea what the connector type is? (5 pin)

I got a 1.5 same engine in a viavro I got a P2413 changed the egr valve, its the same type that you have fitted. Relearn the egr to ecu. 5 mins later engine warning light came back on.. any ideas ??
The vivaro has the main egr at the front and the cooler at the back.. both are common issues
@diydaly after spending an hour found the route cause of the problem hair line split in the vacuum pipe that goes to the actuator on the egr cooler...
Took me a while to find this fault but manage to replace the small pipe and no more DTC!

I must replace DV6FC egr in a 308 but there is no video. EGR is a bit different modelo but I think i can get It :-)
