How much would you charge to re-cap a fz-1 3do like yours?
I just got hold of a 3do interesting video might do this myself to extend its life. Very useful video
Really interesting, I have a 3DO which is going to need a recap so will be coming back to this sometime. Good to see a new repair video Mark. 👍😍
Great video and I love how easy you make it look to desolder capacitors. I definetely need to invest in a silicone based solder pump have been meaning to for ages I have a temperature controlled soldering iron. I can't wait for part 3
Shooting part three tomorrow, but I have been asked to review my Vega Plus first :(
only saying that as i had 2 drives die..then moved to the goldstar version years ago and its still running along nicely :)
3DO games are quite good only played a few ,using emulation on a sony vaio laptop with linux mint and retropie installed i quite like the 3DO version of road rash .
I've just bought one of these mark, not checked if anyone's been inside yet.
Mine is in full working order, is it likely to fail without a recap?
Never had one before, looking forward to discovering some decent game's I've never played.
Very good video mate.
Most do fail without the power caps being done. All mine have and I have done several for customers with the same issue.
i loved the video mate i hope in the end will work :) I had a 3DO myself back in the day :)
Which are those components and where can I buy them?
Bedankt
Graag gedaan!
Funny enough im working on a fz1 also. Just done a full recap however like yours someone else had been in the unit an tried a "recap" . Wow what a mess. Broken traces. Ripped vias.
I am able to get the console to boot but only to a blank screen on both rf and composite. Any input on what to look at for?
Hard to say without it being here. If you have replaced all the caps I'd double check the polarity on the silk screen.
GOOD MORNING FRIEND I HAVE A 3DOO FZ1 WHICH CD N GIRAR COULD YOU HELP ME
highest quality components...... :| lets leave that there shall we
They are actually decent components, but the design lends itself to boiling the capacitors near the regulators.
yep i watched you doing exactly what i spend sooo much time doing...bloody retro consoles why do they have to be so good and make me do this :(
Part THREE? Where's part 1 then? (Assuming this was 2)
Mark Barratt link is in the description sir.
spotted that lol
put up another post, rather than replying to this one - might get the hang of this tech lark one day
hoping you're well squire
Alive! That's all we can hope for :P
