Very nice! I've been making the traditionally shaped handles for my lathe and mills, which are a huge amount of work, but after seeing how nice these look, I am going with your style instead from now on. Thanks!
Hi there - man, I enjoy your videos ! Just a question, you seem rather young - maybe you just look young.. - but you know a hell of a lot about engineering and machining. How did you come about your knowledge ? On job training, or did you actually study this and how long ? Thanks for sharing, super interesting !!
I’ve always been mechanical. However, most everything you see is self taught. Machining itself. I just started learning about three years ago. Other mechanical stuff. I’ve been doing my whole life. Lots of UA-cam.
You can improve your surface finish on your finish passes by switching to a sharper tool with a larger nose radius. That also helps to take more accurate shallow cuts.
h&w (small caps intended) are good at their job rebuilding machines. However, their actual customer service skills are anything but. They are by far one of the rudest most self-absorbed group of people I have ever had the displeasure to deal with, esp the "daughter" who has a raging smart alec mouth on her and complaining about her is pointless because it's a family run business. Communication was impossible. I was clear with them and detailed everything in email and they ignored everything I detailed. And if that wasn't enough my shipment was damaged by the shipper on the return trip and that was something they admitted to have been dealing with for some time which begs the question why wasn't that little fact made known to me because I could have arraigned another option to ensure my machine didn't come back to me damaged. I also don't care what anyone else's experience was. That doesn't mean anything. These people operate the same with everyone, so I know I'm not alone in this regarding their total lack of customer service and complete lack of communication.
Good to know. I have had good luck but doesn’t mean your experience is not real. I hate when places have bad customer service. I feel like I am always dealing w sub par service from companies. It drives me crazy.
Nice handles, it has to suit you and no one else. The last one was a real good looking handle, well done.
I appreciate ot
Remote Schooling in sección, Thanks for sharing your knowledge!
You are very welcome!

I appreciate it
I understand that this is a money-making machine, but I'd love to see it get a full restoration like you've done to some of your other machines.
Yeah at some point
The camera lens without the back cap on is killing me
Yeah, that happens a lot in my shop. I know it bothers people. I always wipe them off and blow them off before I use them.
Such talent & skill 👍👍
I appreciate the kind words

did you mean "sharper" or is that autocorrect? didn't quite follow the comment but was interested.
@@Charlieman. Yeah, sharper. Pointy and sharp are "pointy" and "sharp" give distinctly different effects when turning :)
Thank you I appreciate it. I have some new tooling since the last time the video was shot and am getting a much better surface finish.
'PromoSM' 🙋
Thanks
Please cover up your lenses..............
I’ll leave them uncover just to annoy people. Lol
@Vanover Customs and scratch up your lenses. I have lenses myself, I know what they cost. Be a smart man and cover them up.
