This is an interview with the star of THE hit BBC show, The Detectorists. Mackenzie Crook was also on The Office, one of the main players in Pirates of the Caribbean, and is also one hell of a treasure hunter!

Poor MacKenzie, a genuinely humble and reserved man having to sit through this mauling of an interview. The Detectorists is a wonderful series, that's all you need to know. Good man yourself Mr. Crook.
They show like a 15 second clip and that "sums it all up"? Cheers to mr. Crook for indulging the tv morons. I loved Detectorists. Wish I lived in a quaint quiet little pastoral village of quirky gentle pub goers.
The Detectorists is low-key genius & superb choice of leading actors. Love the over the head song references aimed at 'Simon & Garfunkel'

Detectorists is my guilty pleasure when I feel low..I was born in essex and lived in suffolk where the series was filmed..a total masterpiece..I can watch it over and over..beautifully shot and acted
Little did any of these folks know how brilliant and popular this ‘little’ show would be. MacKenzie Crook is brilliant.
I fell in love with Detectorists from the first episode. What a brilliant show. I have watched it over and over and will again. I was so sad to see it end. Thank you MacKenzie and cast.

Very talented chap and for all his success he seems so down to earth (oh bit of a pun). The Detectorists is one of the best UK shows I've seen in years. I hope they make more.
Mackenzie Crook is such a lovely human being and the series Detectorists is amazing - beautifully shot, great rapport between Mackenzie and Toby Jones - in fact the whole cast are incredible. I wonder if the presenters of the One Show watched the show?
Got to say the Detectorists was the best television I watched in 2014. Hopefully it'll get another series.

When Mackenzie met Dumb & Dumber. It's a shame the very best of television has to promote itself on some of the very worst.

I am very late to the party! Discovered detectorists yesterday, been binge watching since. Best telly I have see in years. Warm, real, likeable, funny. Beautiful nature, history, music and cast. I LOVE this wonderful series. The One Show however I cannot stand personally.
I gotta watch it here on youtube. When I saw those fighters fly over with the two guys swinging intensely and not noticing the planes, wow, they hit the nail on the head! Thanks for posting!

Those two had no idea how to interview Mckenzie. This is the best comedy series in years. No research, no mention of the amazing cast in the show just a rubbish interview grrrrrrr

Honestly one of the best shows I've seen. Refreshing in comparison to whats out there. Sad to see it go. It's intrigued me to look into detecting myself.

Dear producer, director and actor, please shoot a sequel to this fantastically beautiful and funny series "Detectorists"! It is the best series on television that I have ever seen, even if it was only shown on Arte with translated subtitles for German television and can be seen in the media library there until October. Perhaps it would also be dubbed linguistically by a German, I think it would be able to achieve a good success with us in Germany. Although I love the original English language version very much, because the voices and the actors are just wonderful. In all honesty, "Detectorists" is really great, please please shoot more of it, the audience will thank you! Especially now in the gloomy Corana times ,detectorits is simply a bright light in the television sky, and probably brings many people to start with this wonderful hobby. I've been looking for my detector myself since 2012, it helps me to understand nature better every day and has helped me a lot in coping with the grief of my wife who passed away too early. Please let this series live again, people will thank you.

What a great shoe I bought the full box set and really loved it iv even the ring tone on my phone it has to be the best iv ever seen as it makes me smile ☺ a d so happy to have watched a fab show well done lads best ever iv seen and play it all the time

A late comer to the Detectorists but now a huge fan; (also of detecting!) absolutely loved everything about it. Within 5 mins of using my first one in 40 years, I found a 1612 unity coin! Can’t stop now 😆

I love this show The Detectorists and I so badly hope that there is more than just two seasons! It's too great to end, and there's so much more that they could do with this show. I understand that Mackenzie wants it just right, but I just love the characters and I really hope it keeps going.

I will have to check this show out, interesting to see our hobby put into the form of an entertaining comedy. I think it could have potential.
It's downright brilliant
This was on Netflix for a bit and I got hooked on it, very well done as are most British programs, I never saw them all because Netflix took them off, I don't binge watch I like to watch the old fashioned way, once a week but then it was gone.

Mackenzie doesn't exactly sell it, and my goodness, what a poor effort by the interviewers. Had I not seen it, this would not have prompted me to do so. If you haven't watched it though, just watch it. The complete series is an absolute delight.
