This week's video looks at a common parrot behaviour: Beak tapping.
Beak tapping has very different meanings depending on species and context. When a cockatiel taps it's beak against something it has a very different meaning to when a macaw does so!
So it's really useful to know what it means with your species and individual bird!

I have beak tapping contests with Pebble and Kiki I find it quite funny, generally I'll tap the desk and Pebble will tap back then do heart wings it's just too adorable 🥹
Haha Fish does the same with me sometimes!
My Cockatiel Monty taps alot. The other day I had my sliding glass door open and a Woodpecker was tapping on the telephone pole. Monty was tapping back. It was like Morris code or a competition, lol

Our quaker taps his beak on my husbands face or nose like a woodpecker. Its pretty entertaining. He likes both of us so I think he's just excited.
Could certainly be excitement!

So interesting David, thanks for the information, my parrolette taps on my cell phone while it sits on my couch, another observation are his glossy fixed eyes while he does it. So comical to watch, sometimes the cell phone is playing a parrolette video, other times it's off. Could he be communicating with the parrolette in the phone, hilarious to watch😂
It’s possible or he’s just marking it as his!
Beak tapping is definitely a male mating behavior in cockatiels. My male likes to do this against his cage. I’ve never seen my female do it though.
It certainly can be! Although it’s not always exactly that depending on the individual!
my conure sheds down feathers is it normal for them to shed them coz he sheds quite a bit of those
If he is moulting then yes it’s normal!

can u plz tell me what exactly to feed my conure is it parrot pellets or just a fruit only diet
i have an uncle that has a bird and told me just to feed my bird a fruit only diet

Only fruit is definitely not good though, same with only pellets!
