On the surface it seems like one shouldn't do that, but it worked out for you cause then you would have gotten 2 on a hit then probably hit again and bust with the Q! I sometimes don’t draw another card if my cards total 15 or 16 against dealer’s 7 or 8. 7 has 9 cards that add to 16 with chance to bust.
