Rosario Bono the dungeon will stop the hallowed from spreading probably. Snow biomes can too.
hallow actually already has a slower base spread rate, so corruption will always beat it to a race to the middle

Ok so the first day I got the solar eclipse, then bloody moon, then the frost moon, then Martian invasion and pumpkin moon happened at the same time so it was frost and pumpkin at the same time man it was crazy! Then pirate invasion happened with ANOTHER solar eclipse and a sandstorm started happening IN THE REGULAR BIOME WHAT THE HECK and then THE GAME CRASHED AND WHEN I JOJNED BACK THE LJNAR CULTIST DIED FOR SKME REASON AND IT DROPPED ZENITH RARE DROP AND LUNAR EVENTS HAPPENED I KILLED THEM ALL AND THEY DROPPED A LOT OF MONWY FOR ME AND 999PLATNIMUM SO I STARTED KILLING MOONLORD AND YEAH I WON THE GAME FIRST DAY

When you destroy demon altars there's a decently high chance that any stone block gets turned into ebonstone, crimstone or pearlstone so that might have something to do with this as well

Make a seed, that only has ores and other spelunking loot. Call it, “Miner’s Dream.” You spawn with the DCU, and your goal, is to mine absolutely everything. No bosses, no monsters. The only biome is cave. You have only the demolitionist as a guide.

@@kenobi3 when you mine a block of ore, it mines all ore adjacent to that ore, and then all the ore next to that, and so on until the entire vein of ore is mined, hence its name

time for a video on how corruption percentage is calculated. My guess: Almost all of the stone got turned, so it doesn't count towards the non-corrupt blockcount. But that's just a theory.

So many ores. This is every hardmode miner's dream.
Pretty sure dryad is a bit messed up. Once completely cleared corruption and had like 3% while before we removed some corruption it was at like 1%. I repeatedly checked a map tool to see any spreading.

The lowest level of corruption I've seen upon generation is 4% crimson. It was soo far to travel to try and find some crimson hearts or deathweed.

I think its got a lot of corruption with all the ores because breaking demons altars causes corruption to spread, and obviously you smashed 1M, so that's a lot of spreading.
Nice vid Edward, I love how much work you put into your videos.

While I am a programmer, I have never peeked into any code for Terraria, so this is just my guess:
1. (As you said) It could be a precaution to prevent the ore from the slim chance of generating off-screen, causing an error or possibly moving the world border, allowing the water to flow down in the new "hole"
2. The end of the world might be reserved because it might have the sea biome even while underground.
But still, interesting to see that no ore can spawn there.
The Dryad has told me that my world was corruption-free when it wasn’t, so I don’t trust her that much

I'd like to see a video where you create a world entirely of cobblestone and place one hallowed block on one side of the world and one corruption block on the other and run a test to see if one spreads faster than the other and if they battle to a stalemate at the middle. Or if one overtakes the other. I think it would be interesting.
They all spread the same but it is slightly random on a race sort of thing

It isn't nuber which will be same on every world but the idea is very cool but it will take a lot of time

It lakes perfect sense why the corruption is so high: the dryad only counts the proportion of corrupted blocks to corruptable blocks (stone, grass, ice, sand). Since most of the world is ore the only corruptable blocks are the surface ones, and a decent portion of the surface is naturally corruption, hence the high % of corruption

When you were talking about the section on the right and left not changing I thought instantly oh that’s the inaccessible part of land that I have and then I realised how did you see it
Whenever I load a map (I use the cheat to see all the map) and there is this part of land as big as yours (looks the same as surrounding land) but I cant go there and I can’t see it so if there is a chest on the other side I can’t get it ect

speed is key I'd recommend some sort of ranged weapon. Vampire Knifes are ok but not the best. You should also use the ninja tabi and make circles around him. You would probably want to build plaforms to land on just to be safe.
I guess use local WiFi or online play with ur friends and then deal with those

many rows of platforms going up, asphalt on the ground, shield of cthulu/ tabi, and buffs. Ranged weapon as well.

wow all this time and i didnt know the more altars you destroy the more ore that spawns no wonder its so hard to find late hardmode ores because i only spawned them once

What item are you using that mines the stone the one creating the red beam
I think the % works by scanning the X axis of the world and saying if a column has more than X ammount of corrupt blocks then were gonna count the column as corrupt then work out the % from there, because if you look at the 18% world, if you do it that way, about 1/5 the surface was corrupted, so that may have something to do with it rather than it counting the underground corruption where it spreads throughout the cavern layer
Btw you should use shredder from calamity mod + endless mortar round from infinity mod for mining.
