some tips for this mod 1. sometimes you can force the mod to generate a world it crashes on by just repeatedly generating it (copy and paste the settings using the import/export to clipboard in custom size menu) but make sure to change the seed every time you do it 2. the best way to get goofy results is to shrink the world down as much as possible before you get errors. I've found 1900x900 to be a good size.
@@repostgrandhall it's likely something in the seed got too small or too large and the generation software cannot understand a large number like that (visually it would print as like -9,243,94.. etc etc you get the point big number in the negatives) this freaks it out so it doesn't load THAT seed with THOSE settings however if you change the seed said world generation is different, maybe the number was just barely big or small enough to fit in the computer's understanding range and it generates. I believe a similar thing is occurring with the long load times and when it completes the loading, it's likely to crash. Adding onto this, 1:51 is a GREAT example of what's going on, the computer had a fine time with this one but as you can see it loads stuff in columns, chunks, whatever, and these have a "connection point" to connect to other columns which generates your world (i think). This means that when the size of a chunk gets too large to fit in a world, or so small its inverted, the generation decides that this seed doesn't deserve to exist. If he tried those same settings on a different seed it may not have worked because of how small those columns are already. tl;dr: computer bad at handling REALLY big number. changing seed may change said number to be small enough for it to handle. Also look at 1:51 and try to flip each column inside out, that's what changing a seed can do.
It's gonna drive you so mad, you're gonna start writing a story-like journal about the lizards watching you, how wearing their skin has only made them look at you more. By the time the story gets to the golem room, it's incomprehensible scribbling and repeating words
I presume "Bogo" terrain is based on the joke "Bogo" sorting algorithm which randomizes the positions of each column under the idea that "eventually" it'll be sorted properly, appropriate if you don't mind the sun eventually fusing all of its fuel into iron and boiling off into a dwarf.
who will win in a race between a new big bang happening right now (1 in 10^10^10^56) and my terraria world being perfectly sorted with bogosort first try?
Advanced world gen is so much more stable than using Fargos best of both worlds and yet it's still hilarious how easy it is to confuse and break the game lol
Should have told me that sooner maybe that's why my game was crashing for the Wall of Flesh it said something about particle Library cuz the freaking tool biomes tried spawning in at the same time I think the corruption and the astral infection tried doing that so gave me out of bounds
Doesn't seem to play well with certain mods though. As of late I've been having crashes trying to generate certain parts of the world. I am pretty sure it has something to do with Calamity mod but I'm too lazy to verify it with certainty. Fargo's BoBW mod doesn't seem to have this issue (to my knowledge at least)
@TheCoLDKanadian unfortunately it seems to be the price we pay installing large content mods with custom biomes. World generation issues always seem to pop-up unless mod authors themselves implement a fix but I highly doubt calamity is going to do a fix on their end considering they are still finishing content they just recently added a new hell biome this year I didn't see before. I also don't expect advanced world gen to create a fix because it's calamity's biomes causing the problems so they prob won't know how to fix it without first seeing how calamity designs their biomes and what causes the biomes to break.
7:51 I believe it's called BogoTerrain because it sorts the world using Bogosort, a sorting "algorithm" which randomises all the data and checks to see if it's correct, if not, it sorts again.
I can’t remember the name of the mod but there is a mod that allows you not only see your world as it generates but also repeat and skip steps in the generation process so no more granite biomes
I used to play terraria with my friends, and well, we were pre golem (we couldn't find the temple) and I got the rod of discord, well we find it after hours of looking and we run through it just for the boss area to be cut off by a lizard blocks, we were dumbfounded until one of my friends had an idea for Me to use the rod of discord to get in there and then they worm hole, it's the one time I've ever felt useful lol (ik we could of used a hammer but I just thought about that)
I had to restart my legendary mode playthrough because the temple was broken and there was not enough room to dodge and it was too big to use the rod of discord to get out
Mine got destroyed kind of again not that much but two of the Crimson heart caves spawned in together and like three of the trees spawned in together too and on my and want one of my other playthroughs Calamity pyramid and a secret of the Shadows pyramid or super near each other
Is there something that makes Terraria less laggy when you create very big worlds? I've tried making a world 100x the size of a normal world and it just wont run properly (0.5 fps on a pretty beefy PC, game crashes when I try to do map reveal, the world itself took (not unexpectedly) over 1h 30m to generate etc.). Is there a mod somewhere out there that makes it easier for Terraria to load such big worlds? Maybe something that makes Terraria only load a part of the world at once? Thanks in advance!
Did you have calamity there is an issue with abyss and brimstone crags if you reload mods by disabling or enabling one it should fix it as long as you have entered the world

Usually a title like this suggests you are breaking the game using exploits in the base build. Kinda defeats the purpose if you are using a mod I feel like.
I wonder if the terraria devs knew what they were getting into by adding tmodloader as a main part of the game
They propably even wanted that to happen
Who doesn't want chaos
Terraria is their little passion project, and they actually care about the community

@@totallyoriginal6934 I feel bad about asking that. Now you wrote the entire Oxford dictionary even though im on console and can’t have Tmodloader
You need to enable overhauled world gen in the mod configuration to get these wonky sizes, I don’t think he did that here
1:12: zenith already adds the effects of celebration, the constant, no traps, for the worthy, dont dig up, drunk world, and for the worthy.
re-adding them would cause even further issues to world gen which makes sense

Which, I'm going to add, will quite literally never happen, until cosmic fluctuation stuff or something happpens

blud thought sky pillars was the same thing as peaks and rifts when he literally did sky pillars and not peaks and rifts 💀
you should do a mini playthrough (maybe just to wof) on the sky pillars world, would be interesting. maybe have some other mods to mix it up too.
