Geographically kaafi wrong hai ye video... its not just khasi hills but because of all three hills which forms funnel like structure and because of that winds shed most of the moisture here....

north eastern rainfall pattern specifically decides by the highest plateau that is tibet due to high pressure area tropical easterly jet stream rotates and decends to mascarine high thus those jet streams are secondarily response for the fully developed monsoon in india and in north east region heavy rainfall caused due to tunnelling effect and because of hard rocks residue of our outer himalayas the rocks are hard rocks those does not retain much water hence mostly caused flooding in north east... looks like need to have more clarity on what geo. discipline is... see the factors responsible for monsoon in india south pacific role el. nino la nina, peru current madden julian oscillations, polar headly and ferrel cell and most importantly mascarine high the island near madagascar... without even IMD. won't even forecast the weather reports....

it's beautiful, i visited there last month. the whole state of meghalaya is a tourist place. visited Cherapunjee, Masynram, Cherapunjee, Shillong and Barapani.

I would like to differ with due respect. I have been born here and have been living here for past 30 years. If you are not a native local of this place, then think 2000 times before coming here. People who do not belong to the local khasi tribe here are called non tribals, aka "Dkhar" in their language. It is used as a slang for us here. Living here is scary and risky for your life. We cannot leave this place as our business is here, for which we need to pay protection money to the local so called tribal students union, who are anything but students. They extort money from dkhars, beat them up, even kill them brutally. It is very unsafe for non tribals here. They even kill tourists here. Beware if anyone is even thinking of coming here. This is like the underdeveloped tribal area where people are vicious and can kill anybody for no reason at all.
