Good job, I like how you demonstrate and teach good things of bee's. Thanks very much for your education. Am also a 🐝 keeper in Ghana west Africa. Thanks a lot.
I was about ready to quit and move on to fish farming when I found this channel now I website selling nucs and queens soon fondant and whole list of wild mushroom
We have a bird feeder on the deck and i noticed it was emptying rapidly. Saw today who the culprits were, ours bees are robbing it, as its small chips of corn, wheat, millet, etc
I suggested to you last year by e-mail that you use the surplus of bees at the end of the season for nucs, because this works very well for me. Now I wonder if you tried it thanks to my input? Or by chance. But it doesn't matter anyway, I'm glad that you're having success with it. 👌👌😊😊
Ian my man I wanna see that little chair stool you got! I’m trying to find something on Amazon but all I can find is mechanic chairs. I wanna see the chair set up or where did you buy that thing or did you make it?
I got a good idea why don’t you come and put some bees on my farm down here in Utah hahah! Just a little bit of a drive or trip but wouldn’t be bad! LOL
Ian, if you only add one strip per box don't you build up resistance? I have a local beekeeper I talked to last year (2500 hive op), he only does one apivar treatment a year. He add's 4 strips per box. And has zero might issues.
Icing sugar drops at the bottom board but doesn't kill the varroa. Icing sugar with thymol kills the varroa but the bees get upset and get outside of the hive for about half an hour. Thymol also contaminates the honey. Greetings from Greece
Surprised no pollen.. dropped queen cells two days ago they look like 48 hours old 24 hours later.. I pulled the queen and all the brood gave them 4 pollen frames
Well Ian I have 480 acres to put some bees on canola. Said it will be blooming in a couple of weeks. He said a week into the bloom he will be spraying for insects. Do you guys ever do this?
Ian, i've been thinking again !.. Brad at Faith apiaries has has 95% loss, he winters inside (smaller) what if its elevated Co2, that would cause acidosis (increased acidity in heamolymph). This would accelerate inflamation leading to desease....Too much Co2 would lead to vasodialation and reduced metabolism, including digestion inefficiency..... leading to the dysentry.
See those trees in the background it a nectar and pollen source in the spring Willows great pollen Maples nectar and pollen then fruit trees - choke cherry saskatoons cranberries carriganna And all the ground flowers and ground fruit .
@@aCanadianBeekeepersBlog …yes not much in winter to offer anywhere around the world ,somethings flower but not much especially if your In Snowy country’s , I’m in Australian we do have something’s that flower in winter in some areas but not a great deal either , where your hives are it looks very barren ,kinda had me concerned for the bees seeing nothing around , I know you guys feed your bees , it must be hard sometimes .
surprising how many bees are in box's after how many wheelbarrels of dead off the floor you take out. well done, thanks for bringing us along.

those are some good looking hives.
Love your dedication. Just wondering if you could use an infrared camera to judge the strength of a hive? Save your back.
I missed it, what is the white stuff going inside ?

Like your new stool
I like it also !!! Brand or info on ordering one myself ??
A tripod with 4 legs
Do the dead bees from winter have any fertilizer value? Sure wouldn't hurt me as bad if I could use them in a field, garden or compost.
On my field to grow canola :)
Зимовалые мертвые пчелы, у нас используют в спиртовых настойках для лечения суставов, очень крутая штука.

1 strip for every 5 frames of bees ,
I see, didn't pay attention to the detail. 👍
Thanks for bringing us along on the hive inspection. What medications are you treating with this Spring?
Oxytet and icing sugar
Icing sugar?
@@user-of2pc5ge8xI think he means oxytetracycline is mixed with icing sugar so that the bees will consume it

We use a product that is friendlier to the bees and works better on the caterpillars
Corregan
@@aCanadianBeekeepersBlog I will definitely get with the field man and find out more what it is and its effects.
I kind of forgot your video on what you did last year. Are all your bulk splits with purchased mated queens or did you use your own cells?
All Konas
What's the white powder you put on
Oxytet
Что за мука белая на рамку ставите ?
How did you get rid of nozema last year?
Treated with fumagillin and heavy with nutrition
What is your mix rate of oxy tet?
The prescription is on the label, I use icing sugar
i havent seen a dime yet
What is the white powder?
Oxytetracycline to clean up EFB from last season.
Oxytetracycline is not allowed in Europe. Does it work well?
Nice stool. Info on it so I can get one?
I’ll show a pic of it in next video , :)
I'm getting seasick..

Do you save you scrapings/bur comb?
Only if the hive tool isn’t working in medication
My gosh the whole area looks dead no life , any chance of growing wild flowers or something.
