Thanks for this video. The car manual was incredibly unclear on this. It didn’t say to press and hold the remote button when pointing it to the steering wheel. This video clears it up. Thanks again.
This video is nor representative of a 2020 VW Atlas. The mirror is completely different. This does not clear anything up. Will take the car back to the dealer.

@@HomeLinkGentex I have a 2020 atlas cross sport and the garage door opener is a liftmaster 8500 with a 889LM control panel. The homelink programs fine but it will only close the garage door. Once the door is closed the system will not open it. Either interference from the car or a very weak signal. The garage good is wood and my wife's KIA has no problem opening and closing the door with her homelink system. Hope this helps.
