Genghis can also be spelled as Chinggis or Jinghis. So, Ian was right.
Yep! Loved that they laughed when Ian said the correct pronounciation also. Genghis with a ”G” would be the butchered version😅
I've also read from somewhere that Genghis Khan died after falling off the back of his horse. It's unclear if the horse was standing still or in a full gallop (the latter would make more sense to kill Genghis Khan).
Where I live we usually spell it "Tsingis Khan". Does anybody else spell it like that, or am I the only one?
@@latexu95 I thought Ghengis was infamous for being castrated by a wrathful woman and bleeding out, so them calling his death "unknown by all historians" and "a top secret mystery" puzzled me.
I was SO SURE that meant the story was false, and then when it came up as true I did a double take lol.

Fun fact: The pronounciation "Jingus" is closer to the truth than Gengis. His name was actually pronounced Chingus Haan, Haan being the tile of king. I'm pretty sure there was a mix up in one of the European countries didn't have the ch sound and changed it to a g. Also, the h in Mongolian is pretty far in the back of the throat so it is written with a kh even though there isn't a hard k sound.

I just wanted to say that I love all of you at Smosh
After taking world history and hearing about the second strange death of Roger and everyone’s reasoning. I realized way before hand that if I ever lived back then as the person I am now, I would be executed or murdered for being an atheist. History is scary.
So I had no idea who Iffy was before he started appearing on Smosh, I think he's a member now but I'm not sure, but I love the addition of Iffy, dude's hilarious!
Could they have clarified that Eleazar is in 2 Maccabees, a book that 2/3 of American Christians don't accept as part of the Bible because they're not Catholic? Most people haven't even heard of those books...I heard the story and thought "False, unless this is some apocrypha stuff."
Same. I said false because I would have remembered that story from the bible, it sounds like something crazy you would have found in Judges, or something. Then I thought maybe it could have been in one of the Macabees, but I didn't like that since it's not considered part of the old testament by a large segment of Christians. I was wrong because of a technicality, and I call shenanigans

No, I've seen the documentary, X-Men, and if Wolverine, mid sliding offLibby's head, can catch his self and swing up to get back to that dome piece of stable footing, instead of just grabbing on and swinging 'around', then I think Lady Libby's head spikes are more horizontal than anything. If I'm right, I just wanna thank Marvel for releasing that documentary narrated by Sir Patrick Stewart and Sir Ian McKellen.

This seems like the kind of game that you can play only once or twice.and then you know all the answer. Also Draco was extremely love because he was the "leader" of the radicalisation of the Athenian Democracy towards the mass of citizen that were less fortunate. He gave them, woth is draconian laws, the possibility to kick out every sophists or manipulators of the democracy etc.

Ok so two thoughts... I really thought shayne would bring up his drowning... but he apparently just dodged death early... also Ify and his voice and personality just reminds me of Tabletop with Will Wheaton, and it is a fantastic rendition.
That's so funny! Shayne said he heard of that shark story before and I got so excited because I knew that I was right as well sense he too has heard of that story before! I felt so smart at that moment... but we were wrong and I no longer felt smart, at least I wasn't alone lol. So we both heard of this fake story before somewhere lol
there's another wrinkle to the Genghis Khan story, at least according to QI... to have at least some means of finding the gravesite of their Khan again, after all the builders and slaves who knew its location were killed, they also killed a baby camel in front of its mother on that site, and the mother camel would remember forever the location of where her baby had been killed... probably an apocryphal cherry atop an already exaggerated yarn, but quite interesting nonetheless...

Edit: That story is from Maccabees, which is not in the Protestant Bible. Makes sense

im surprised none of them mentioned how the decade peter jones was born, the 40s, was still a time when America did not own Alaska because we got it from Russia in the 60s so it would have been VERY UNLIKELY “Peter Jones” was given that much of an Americanized name to actually live in Alaska…. at the time he was born if it was true he would have had a more Russian name😟😟😟

I liked the video. Honestly, I didn't really like the game but I wanted to support you guys. Maybe my attention span is too short or its because I hate having too many words being dyslexic and all.
He is not the only person that affected the climate of the world. The brits killed over 91 million people in about a 300 hundred year span causing a global cooling. They are also marked as the single most death caused in a short time period.

Shayne must have heard that shark story from me, hahaha. My ACTUAL story: A few years ago I was at a beach in RI and saw a small sand tiger shark beached on the rocks. I put the shark (about 2.5 feet long) back into the water and it gave my ankle a quick slap with its tail before it swam off. A beached animal is probably going to be more interested in getting away to safety than to hang out for a snack.

Parsons body was at the airport in LA (he had died in Joshua Tree) about to be sent to Louisiana when his friends stole it and then drove BACK to Joshua Tree.
