In episode 12 of our deer management series with Chris Rogers on Shooting & Country TV, it's serious business as Chris heads out to try and shoot two very specific deer. The first is a muntjac that has been living within a fenced area where new trees are being grown to aid carbon storage. The young trees are highly vulnerable to damage from deer, and the muntjac needs to be removed as soon as possible before it undoes a lot of hard work!
The second is an old, non typical roebuck that Chris wants out of the way before the rut starts, so that a younger roe buck with better genes to pass on can have a chance at covering the does in the area. This particular roe buck has evaded Chris on several occasions, and with the rut fast approaching, this could be his last chance to catch up with him.

.243 for the small deer, 30-06 in the winter for larger deer.
