Quick Note: if hunting in yards* over meters, set your tents at 300 yds, you can run up to 200yds and walk up to 100yds before deer will typically spook. (Your scent distance with wind should be taken into account)
I set my tent up on the side of the lake 50 maybe 100 yards and they spawn on the opposite shore. When they stop spawning I just swap my tent to the other side
For whitetail, shoot down lvl 2 to lvl 1 in zones that are not your main zone. In your main zones, shoot lvl 2 until theyre lvl 3 diamond potential. Once you have a good amount of Dimes, shoot them down, (only if all your other zones are low lvl 2 or lvl 1....
Been a level 60 for a bit now. Always just did recreational hunting on the game just to relax with friends. But recently I began the GO journey and this video is helping a ton. I was confused on how to make the diamonds spawn where you wanted them but the explanation in the video was great! Thanks guys!

Would be interesting to know his skill and perk preferences as well he swaps out one or two skill/perks from time to time depending on different hunting strategies just mix it up and take a breather from grinding. Just found my first Whitetail Great one! I started using this strat a couple of months ago and just this past week I've been spawning diamonds almost daily on my main zones.
This video could not have been better timed. I started wondering this morning why I keep having crappy herds and decided I would try herd management not even a couple hours ago in Revontuli coast

One thing everyone might try is to periodically check your exterior zones bc 3 of my 4 red deer GOs were at lakes I marked off my rotation.. just check them once a week...
Is there any tips I guess on how to get the high level 2 bucks to stop spawning in exterior zones while trying to get more in your main zones? First time doing heard management so kinda just confused lol getting lots of 200+ bucks in the wrong zones. Not sure if I’m doing something wrong or if it’s just all luck based. My map has 200s scattered everywhere and idk if I’m supposed to try focusing more on my main lakes or what to do haha. Maybe for your level reset series you can walk us through a management and physically show how to walk through all the lakes or something
Shoot 2s everywhere. Only shoot 1s from main shooting lakes if there is nothing bigger there. When you find all small deer at exterior lake, move your tent and tripod to another exterior lake and shoot there until they're all small and keep doing that til they're all small. Then just grind main lakes

If it goes to 5 you want to shoot the 3's and 4's, and for animals that go to 3 you want to shoot the higher level 2's, but I don't really use main zones I just shoot until most of my zones are low I don't choose which ones
First thanks for making all of the content that you make it's been very helpful for new players . I see here that a lot of people are asking for the red deer grind, so I'll say what was my experience on teawaroa. I'm relatively a new player started playing few months ago so when i bought dlc i was only level 29 and had no money for the tents so it took me a little longer for proper set up but when i found all the zones, it's between 40/42 zones.I started shooting everything above level 4, i have manage to count all the bucks on the map it's around 135 and after 1500 kills the map had over 95 level 4's. I was stacking diamonds and periodically shooting few every round. The GO spawned the day before the new update came out after some 1700 kills🎉 at that point i had over 20 diamonds on the map so i decided to shoot them all in one then go for the fabled😂..it was awesome the adrenaline rush was through the roof 😂😂.at the end of the grind i had 35 diamonds 3 rares 16 trolls..after that i didn't came back on the map until today and i just wanted to test the new guns on the red deer, on my second run there he was 10 fabled😮..i was in shock, plus few diamonds and level 7 piebald.. so this method is working perfectly... sorry for the long text but i hope it's gonna help someone.

I just wanted to clarify about shooting in my main lakes as I'm rotating through my exterior lakes and discovering new zones. Do I want to shoot the level 1's, low level 2's and females out of my main drink zones or should I only shoot a few per zone over time and ignore all females? Does it matter if I only manage to shoot one deer out of a drink zone sometimes and don't make the second shot? Thanks for the advice and great videos!
Don't shoot females at all. Females respawn as females. No need and it can mess up your grind - giving you inconsistent respawns. Only shoot mid levels from every zone - exterior or main shooting lakes. Only shoot smaller ones from main shooting lakes when you have nothing larger to shoot. Otherwise that small animals will be there forever. Need to get a bigger respawn in there! to continue shooting. Doesn't matter if you shoot 1 or 2. Just affects the speed of your grind. Nothing else
so when you set everything up and start hunting your main zones, im assuming that bigger animal population depleats so do you have to go to your exterior zones again and start shooting them up, or is it just a simple shooting the animals at your main zones that are below a 3 forcing 3's to spawn? basically when you have hunted all your exterior zones you can just stay at your main zones shooting 3's until less than 3's spawn and then take out those less than 3's to spawn more bigger ones?
Ok.... I have to ask. 9:53. "never shoot 1's . But if you come to a main shooting zone and you have 1's you can shoot them. If you come to a main shooting lake and you have 1's and big ones, you ignore the 1's and just shoot the big ones. If you have a nice big one and a 1 then you take them both. So don't shoot them but shoot them...? I assume if you leave the 1's and shoot the big one in zone "A", then you leave the max weight and shoot the 1's zone "B" they populate with what you're not shooting? More of what you leave at that zone appear?

I’m currently doing a European Bison grind. Found 54 zones (I’m positive this is all or most), shot down zones to 1 and 2’s but I’m not getting many 4’s and 0 5’s respawning. Respawns are consistent which is nice. Should I shoot down large 2’s? I’ve harvested 200-300. One thing I’m thinking is because cows have horns and scores they may be effecting the grind. Thoughts?

You shoot the mid levels at every zone. When you have small respawns at an exterior lake, move you tent and tripod to another zone til all exteriors are shot down.

I have only stacked a great one once back when the great one moose were changing furs in the lodge and it didn't help. I had my next great one come along 1350 kills later. Not terrible but not super fast either!

The odd thing is I followed your te hotspot map and I spent hours and hours and found all of my drink zones except 4. No matter how many times I go to those areas they do not come to the lake. So far I’ve gotten 2 diamonds out of it though.
No you shoot the mid levels everywhere. When the exterior lakes become all small, you move your tent and tripod to another exterior lake and shoot it down and keep doing that until all exterior lakes have only 1s and small 2s (for whitetail) and then you can move the tents to main shooting lakes for pickup and then you start to only grind the main lakes and you shoot any stacked diamonds at that point and going forward.
So i have about 55 zones on revontuli, i have to choose 16 zones ( 10 as main and 6 as exterior) then rotate and only shoot 2s, then stack diamonds in the main zones and leave the exterior once there are only 1s, and then shoot the 2s and 3s in the mains correct?
Shoot the mid levels (leave the 1s and small 2s - based on their rack size) at every zone. You can shoot smaller ones at main shooting lakes if you have nothing bigger. Otherwise it’ll be there forever. Everything else is correct! Good luck!
Okay so i need help with herd management red deer grind becaouse i can’t understand. I think i should shoot the level 5s and up but when i have 4s on my drinking zone what should i shoot then if i want to spawn great ones and diamonds?
With tripods I did a grind with only one and it worked fine just took a little longer and shots are further to be able to place the Tripod without spooking
I'd have to ask ibuy. I will include that in the red deer video cause I'm not sure tbh. I shot more than 2 when I did my red deer grind but I wasn't using HM back then.
The map has a balance and when you stack diamonds, it causes your respawns to get much smaller which is what you want at exterior lakes. That's the purpose of stacking. Once those lakes are shot down, you can kill the diamonds and kill them as they spawn going forward. Good luck!

You do a rotation of both exterior and main shooting lakes. Once the exterior lakes are shot down, just dawn the main shooting lakes.

Let's say you've been hunting an area for a while without doing this, can you start herd management and stacking or is it too late?

Just a tip : set ur measuring units to meter, kilometers, etc. because when you sight your gun in it’s an even number
I always use metric playing the Hunter. The game was built on it.

Yes rotate all zones at the same time. Stack only diamonds. Not trolls. Only stack if you believe they will score diamond

Just an unrelated question , how long does hunting pressure last before you can hunt that zone again ?
Hunting pressure disappears when you create more hunting pressure somewhere else on your map

Am I shooting medium level white tails at my main zones as well?
Hello I have set up my map pretty good am stating to get three's in my shooting zones in my other zones am getting most down to 1's and low 2"s, I wanted to ask do you stack great ones at all is there an advantage to do that I haven't got one yet but am hoping, thanks if you get this I know it's a older post
I have only stacked a great one once back when the great one moose were changing furs in the lodge and it didn't help. I had my next great one come along 1350 kills later. Not terrible but not super fast either!
Thanks very much for your help I have watched your and ibuy's vids and so far working good my brother started a grind a got a great one after only 14 kills and hardly any zones lucky buck lol!

The odd thing is I followed your te hotspot map and I spent hours and hours and found all of my drink zones except 4. No matter how many times I go to those areas they do not come to the lake. So far I’ve gotten 2 diamonds out of it though.
When you say zone, is it the actual lake or the need zone
So you shoot the big ones in exterior lakes and the small ones in the main zones?
No you shoot the mid levels everywhere. When the exterior lakes become all small, you move your tent and tripod to another exterior lake and shoot it down and keep doing that until all exterior lakes have only 1s and small 2s (for whitetail) and then you can move the tents to main shooting lakes for pickup and then you start to only grind the main lakes and you shoot any stacked diamonds at that point and going forward.

When you say shoot down the exteriors lakes down to 1S, what exactly does that mean?
Shoot the mid levels til you go back and all you have is 1s and small 2s
Ok so if I want to stack and I have a zone of 4, 2 does a decent level 2 and a level three do I leave the 3 and shoot the 2??????

When you start out, 16 tents on 16 lakes but once your exterior lakes are shot down, you can move those tents to your main lakes as pickup tents.

How many do you shoot from a main zone and what if that zone has not a lot of deer
Say my main zone has a 3 2 does and a 1 would I only kill the one then the big ones my extortion zones would go to my main
So i have about 55 zones on revontuli, i have to choose 16 zones ( 10 as main and 6 as exterior) then rotate and only shoot 2s, then stack diamonds in the main zones and leave the exterior once there are only 1s, and then shoot the 2s and 3s in the mains correct?
Shoot the mid levels (leave the 1s and small 2s - based on their rack size) at every zone. You can shoot smaller ones at main shooting lakes if you have nothing bigger. Otherwise it’ll be there forever. Everything else is correct! Good luck!

Okay so i need help with herd management red deer grind becaouse i can’t understand. I think i should shoot the level 5s and up but when i have 4s on my drinking zone what should i shoot then if i want to spawn great ones and diamonds?
Shoot the mid levels from every zone. Only shoot smaller ones when they show up on main shooting lakes so you can shoot 4s from main shooting zones

With tripods I did a grind with only one and it worked fine just took a little longer and shots are further to be able to place the Tripod without spooking

I use this method on New Zeeland map with red deer. About 600 kills no GO but 5/6 diamonds no rare one. Can just say that this method is nice
What animals do I kill in my main zones?
So when you shoot the 2s from exterior zones wouldn’t they respawn back into the exterior lake and that same zone?
I'm not 100% sure, but I know respawns can come back bigger or smaller, so the idea is that you shoot them until they come back as small 2s or 1s.

The map has a balance and when you stack diamonds, it causes your respawns to get much smaller which is what you want at exterior lakes. That's the purpose of stacking. Once those lakes are shot down, you can kill the diamonds and kill them as they spawn going forward. Good luck!
