Vedam song from the movie Salangai Oli is a classic example of Hamsanandi . All the swaras are sung at the start of the song itself.

Upon looking for your other videos, I stumbled on this and got floored after listening. Explaining the "re" three types and examples, of both classical and film songs is educative and enjoyable. You are creative, innovative and out of the box thinker and doer. Kudos to you.

I am a reasonably good cook. I don't experiment. I am just a traditionalist sticking to the known good.
One of the videos you showed your son's early interest in identifying ragas and latter you said he is the one who plays Tabla now at 19. I couldn't believe you have such a grown up lad. Then you played Violin too where you asked the audience to identify the ragas. A few other videos after that.
At this rate you seem to make me a vidhwan in a year! Lofty goal of you.
For sure I will be better listener at kutcheries and identify who does well and who does ". அபத்தம்". Introduce your husband and son to us ( your immediate family with current selfie or so and a bio of where you grew up in Chennai or TNadu)

Is there a difference between Brga and gamakam? Thanks for your help.
Yes. Both are different.
Brigas are fast set of notes whereas gamakas are shaking of notes in a proper way. There are Dasavida - 10 types gamakas that are commonly practiced nowadays. Some notes are rendered plain and some with gamakas (also called ornamentation of notes) depending on the raga. I will do one separate series explaining all the gamakas with examples. Madam seen some of ur videos all are great. I'm nit a trained carnatic musician having simple knowledge of tracing ragas. Your delineation gave simple knowledge of ragaas without going into much of grammar
